Hooper had never personally experienced death of a close one before. He knew of people who died, but none had really effected him before. It was always, oops. Sorry about their luck. And he was always the one saying sorry to everyone else for their loss and now he knew how much of a joke that was because now he was on the receiving end of it.
At first, he was full of energy. Energy that was rageful. Lashing out at everyone, starting fights with those stupid enough to think the Lestranges as great people. But when everything left him, he found himself sitting in a chair in the common room, and he was unmoving. Hell unresponsive.
People spoke to him, but he couldn't comprehend it. It was all just echoes and how could someone answer somebody who they couldn't understand. So he sat there in the chair like a mindless zombie. His eyes fixated on the fire, barely blinking.
Hell he didn't even notice Zee coming in to stand in front of him, he looked right passed her. No word was uttered from his lips, nothing was given to show if he seen her or not. No, he just continued to look at the fire.
However, when she sat down on the arm of the chair, it jarred him enough to recognize her there, even if he didn't say anything. He didn't even look at her. No, for a long while, he continued staring.
But finally, his first word was muttered.
"Hello." He said softly, eyes still not going toward her.
