Rules for tornado_watch
- As Baum himself wrote: "Behave yourself!"
- No godmodding.
- No twinking.
- No metagaming.
- Please use common sense. It helps things run smoothly. If you're not sure if you're using your common sense or if you're unsure about anything, feel free to ping the mods about anything. They don't bite - hard. *g*
- Be Honest. About things that squick you. About how you feel about someone's plot/actions that would affect your character or the game as a whole. About what you think is wrong if something is wrong. With your mod about what you'd like to see, what you think could be improved, etc. This is not, however, an excuse to be an insufferable jerk, to me or any player. Honesty is not brutality. Honesty is also not a guarantee that you'll get your way; compromise is a good part in any game, especially roleplay. However, things are better dealt with when they're out in the open. That's how I feel about it.
- Canon puncturing (informing another character that he/she/it is from a book or movie or show) is allowed with permission from the mun in question... but please remember that telling someone something like that will have IC consequences for both your pup and the pup in question.
- In fact, all IC happenings have IC results. Using the courtesy of other players to avoid IC responsibility for IC actions is not something that will be tolerated for an extended period. For one, it's unfair and is in a way a manner of twinking. For another, it's bad roleplay. Just because it will make you sad that your character's hand gets cut off and might hamper your play, if he pisses off a random jedi... it might happen. Taking risks is part of life and it's part of RP. If you're a badguy, eventually someone's going to catch you. If you're a goodguy, eventually you're going to get screwed for it. Actions have consequences and while sometimes we want to protect our pups, delaying or nixing consequences does not make good roleplay.
- For that matter, if you're planning a plot or an action which will seriously affect or limit how another character or a group of other characters will act or perceive, please ask for permission from the muns of the characters in question. For one thing, it's only polite. For another, communication can very often result in even more fantastic play. And for the last... it's better to ask permission than have to apologize or retcon. Really.
- IC =/= OOC. Never shall the two cross. Do not let IC nonsense mess up relationships in OOC. Do not let OOC nonsense mess up IC play. IC actions against your pup do not mean that someone doesn't like you. Just because your character is an antisocial jerk does not mean you get to be one. Just because your character is a doormat does not mean you have to be one. And please remember it's just a game.
- Players can only app 5 characters to the game. You can send a character home at any time and app a new character if you wish but don't make a habit of it, please. Consider your apps wisely.
