"Yes, the family lunch is after, but not RIGHT after. Chloe would freak out if her house was a huge mess and her family was coming over. It might be a few days or a week after, and then she'll have time to clean. I'm apparently going to help." Clive scrunched up his nose. It was well established that he was horrible at cleaning charms, and he wasn't very motivated to do cleaning anyway. The only way anything got cleaned around him was if someone else did it for him, though Chloe was getting the hang of spurring him into action. Fortunately his adoration for her was enough that he'd sometimes do chores to please her, as much as he detested performing them.
He perked up at Grayson's decision to make cake. It was rather amazing that he still had faith in his older brother to make something decent, but he was determined already that the cake would be sugar-filled goodness. It wasn't like he was any good at baking either. "Yes! Cake! Maybe Spunk would like to help. Or Soup - does he know how to bake? Or you can just trap Damien in the kitchen so he can't work and has to help you bake." He nodded as if this was a brilliant idea. "And I promise I won't tell Chloe. It can be a surprise! Make it chocolate. Everyone loves chocolate, and it'll make Chloe's nieces and nephew love you even more!" Making the kids hyperactive on cake probably wouldn't be the best way to get in the good books of Chloe's siblings, but it would be fun. He liked playing with Chloe's nieces and nephew.
"Oh! If I can keep stuff here then I'm going to put all my Weasley's Wizard Wheezes stuff here, and you're allowed to use some of it so long as you replace stuff eventually. It will be so cool. Maybe we can have this year's Christmas at Chloe's place... Mine and Chloe's place. It feels weird saying that. Did it feel that weird when you moved in here?" He jumped off the washing machine, too restless to sit in one place for too long. "Hey, we should have a practice run at making cake! Do you have ingredients? No, wait, of course you don't. Um..." But a practice run at making cake sounded like a great idea. Practice makes perfect, right? And he wanted Chloe's family to be impressed by his family.
