WHO: Carol Marcus and Howard Stark
WHEN: 226410.25
WHERE: Weaponry
SUMMARY: Giving Howard a tour of the weapons bay. Log challenge - prompt: I don't think so
WARNINGS: Probably none.

In Carol's opinion, this was probably a bad idea. Howard Stark, tinkerer extraordinaire, really did not need a tour of the weapons bay. While she had made it perfectly clear that he wasn't going to touch anything, she was still wary. He liked to experiment. Carol saw nothing wrong with experimentation, but when doing so with explosives, the experiment needed to take place in a controlled lab with the proper precautions. It certainly couldn't take place on a Starship. One mistake could mean blowing all of them out into the black.

Carol met him at the entrance, where he looked like a kid about to go into a candy shop. "Mr. Stark," she said with a half smile. "I hope this will be enlightening for you."

"Of course not, that would be incredibly dangerous." Live munitions in an enclosed space like this? That would be just asking for trouble. Even he wasn't stupid enough to take that sort of risk.

He leaned over to peer into the canister, trying to see the wiring harness while keeping his hands clasped behind his back. "When you say long range, how long are we talking here?" Because long range in his day meant a few hundred yards, and even then, it wasn't terribly accurate. He couldn't imagine that Carol's "long range" was the same.

Well, at least he wasn't crazy. That earned him some points. Carol might actually let him touch things later. Seeing him with his hands behind his back like a choirboy was very amusing to her.

"Interplanetary," she replied. "These are within 50 lightyears, but some are within 100. Are you familiar with global positioning technology?" It didn't exist in his time, but perhaps he'd done some reading.
