Welcome to the Holodeck!

Each Saturday, join the Enterprise crew and your fellow travelers to meet new arrivals, catch up with those you haven't seen in a few days, or try a new drink. This week, the traveler liaison program, along with the help of the Deck 5 Lounge staff, have decided to theme the evening on the holodeck. Welcome to a forest getaway. It's late afternoon into evening, an outdoor bar is set up alongside a campfire, picnic tables, and a lake with canoes. Enjoy stargazing as the sun goes down.

After muddling a couple of orange peels and a little mint she filled the glass with a good bourbon, a little orange juice and a touch of bitters, stirring it she added and orange peel for decoration. "If you can't guess, I might have to reevaluate how smart you are," she teased as she looked up and placed the glass in front of him.

Taking a moment to study his expression she smiled softly after a beat. "I was thinking about where I was heading before I ended up here, it was a picnic, so this setting..." she trailed off.

"I might have some idea," he smirked at her as he took the drink, making a show of taking a whiff before he tried it. It was good, but he wasn't really surprised by that. She was good at what she did.

He nodded at her explanation. "Easy to get homesick, even in a place like this," he commented. He had his moment, both of missing Moya and missing Earth. He supposed he had double the places to miss now.

"Don't leave me in suspense!" She told him as she watched him sniff the drink and finally try it, she got the impression that he liked it but she wasn't totally sure if that was the case or not. "If you don't, I'll just drink it for you." She teased.

Shrugging while nodding was a little weird for a reaction, but it was the best that she could muster for it. "Yeah, a bit of that, and a bit of just thinking about everything that was going on seems like it's all really far away now. A completely different life."

"Come on, you know you're amazing," John said, awkwardly pausing when he realized what he'd actually said. "It. The drink is amazing, just like it always is." Yeah, that was absolutely what he'd meant, nothing to read into there.

He did understand what she meant about it being a completely different life. He'd gone through it on Moya as he slowly got used to a life in space. Home had felt so far away then and now his life had been turned upside down again. "Believe me, I know that feeling well," he empathized.

Having just glanced down to grab her own drink, her eyes shot up when John spoke and started to awkwardly clarify what he'd meant to say. Blushing, with a slow smile she laughed softly. "Well, if my drinks and I are amazing, guess we'd make a pretty good partner in crime for wherever we end up next huh?"

Watching his expression, she believed that he got it. "I guess it's just a matter of time before this ship really starts to feel like home."

"There's no one on this ship I'd rather have as my partner in crime," he said honestly, "no matter where we end up." He'd met a lot of cool and interesting people on this ship, but Alicia had become one of his favorites. He liked the banter they had when they talked, but there were also moments like now when he thought they understood each other pretty well.

"Even after it does feel like home, it'll still feel like you're living another life. That feeling doesn't go away, no matter how used to life around here you get." Even after years in the Uncharterd Territories, he'd really wanted to get home. Sometimes he still did.

Smiling, she got it, of everyone she'd met here, John was one of her favorites, besides he was fun to be around and she for some reason always felt comfortable around him. She did sort of wonder what kind of trouble the two of them together could find themselves in, and get themselves out of in the future.

"Guess I'll just have to find out huh?" She hadn't been here long enough to experience some of that. "Suppose it's always like that," she did sometimes feel like Italy was more home than England and vise-versa, but she didn't need to bring that up.

"Having good friends around can help," he offered. "So can a good distraction. Maybe when you're done with your shift, you'll let me kidnap you."

Distracting was something John was good at, whether it was taking a walk around the ship or finding some kind of trouble. He knew Alicia was pretty good at it, too, but he was hoping maybe she might want some company later.

"It's not much of a kidnapping if I know it's coming," she teased but leaned forward signaling him to do the same, when he was close enough she whispered. "But, you're welcome to kidnap me anytime." Leaning back she smiled with a noticeable blush.

"Go on, let me get on with my shift," she said as she noticed a couple of people waiting to see if they could get to the bar.

"I guess I'll just have to find some other way to surprise you then," he whispered back, almost brushing her skin with his lips before he pulled back.

"This is one hell of a drink, Spinnet," he said more loudly when he pulled away, raising his glass at her. "I can't wait to see what you do next." Deciding he really should let some other people get their drinks, he gave her one last grin before he turned and disappeared into the crowd.

	If anyone bothered to look at her at that moment, all of her attention was on John. "See ya, Crichton," she called as he walked away, it took her a good moment before she could focus on the next drink someone ordered. (Reply to this) (Parent)
