It's St. Patrick's Day! At least, that's what Terran members of the Enterprise crew claim. It's an ancient tradition out of the country of Ireland on Earth that celebrates the color green and is an excuse for drinking large amounts of green beer. (It's possible that some of the particulars of the holiday have been lost over the centuries...)

All of the food and drinks served in the mess hall today will be green, no matter what color they're supposed to be. Anyone eating in the mess hall will be able to enjoy this!

	"Yang." She stuck out her right, yellow and black painted metal hand mostly out of habit. "A planet called Remnant. I grew up on an island named Patch and went to Beacon Academy in Vale. 	Sirius shook Yang's hand, staring at it a moment before he realized he was being rude. "Monsters like beasts?" he asked. "We have dragons where I'm from as well an entire catalog of creatures that are ranked by danger level." Looking at Yang he said, "That's cool, though. You're a protector of the people." "They're called Grimm. From small, wolf-like creatures to giant bears and birds and then this big...dragon thing..." Yang held her arms out as if that described the size of it. "They're black like night, with red glowing eyes and white armor and they're attracted by negative emotion. I guess you could say they're ranked by danger. An Ursoc or King Taijitu is a lot more dangerous than a beowolf."

She wondered what her world could have been like if they hadn't been repeatedly driven out of most of it buy the Grimm. They had long range communication and flying ships and a lot of other technology that seemed to be similar to what she'd seen on the Enterprise. A scroll was just like a Padd, only with a communicator in it.

	"Grimm eat people, bones and all. But that sounds really awful." Yang frowned, setting her sandwhich down. "Like, really cruel. What kind of punishment is that?" Sirius continued eating his lunch, despite it's appearance and despite this conversation, and he considered Yang a moment before answering.

"I don't know. I'd honestly never really thought about it until I found out I end up there. Right now in my world there's someone who deserves it, but that's not how things will go."

This next part was tricky, with Peter and now Lily on board, but Sirius decided to answer honestly. Maybe it was because he didn't know how to react himself, talking to someone who knew nothing about any of them was a welcome change of pace.

"I don't do anything. See, I have this group of three friends, and we've always been close. There's a war going on, and one of those friends and his wife had to hide. They were going to use me to hide them, which is weird to explain but basically whoever they used would be the only person who could reveal their location."

He paused, trying to make sure she was following. "But I am the most obvious choice, so I guess I had them use my other friend, except he turned out to be a traitor and he gets them killed. And then because I'm the only person who knows it was him and not me, since the other two are dead, he frames me and fakes his own death? So I end up in prison..."

Sighing, he realized that Peter could be in the kitchen right then, cooking, unaware of the future that awaited him. Sirius may have kept calm so far, but since Lily's arrival he'd grown more angry at events that he'd yet to witness. That he may never witness.

"Anyway, I escaped years later, at least? But this place? Seems to be a better future for me, and I feel guilty for even considering that."

Eating a good series of meals was important, though while Yang wasn't as bad as her sister where sweets were concerned, she didn't always adhere to the healthy part of eating. Just eating enough to help with how much energy she used up in any given day. Yang devoured her sandwhich while listening to Sirius.

A little frustration at her own world edged into her voice. "How come the ones that deserve it never actually get what they deserve?"

Sirius's story got to Yang a little bit, making her angry, her eyes briefly going from purple to red and her hair almost glowing. "Some friend. My best friend took off because I got hurt and she blamed herself. She did it to protect me. But even when I was the most in a funk I don't think I ever thought she was capable of that kind of thing. I'm sorry, Sirius. Don't feel guilty. Think of it like a second chance!"

Sirius was staring at Yang, confused because he could have sworn her eyes had changed color and her hair had shimmered or something but then that passed and he wasn't sure if she was a metamorphmagus or he'd imagined it all.

It was her last sentence, however, that got to him. "You're right," he said, cheering up considerably. "This is a second chance." For him, definitely for Lily, and maybe even Peter and Remus. "I hadn't thought of it that way."
