Welcome to the Deck 5 Lounge

Klara and OPEN

Klara made a point of visiting the Deck Five lounge every so often, mostly for the view. No matter how many years she spent in space, that sense of awe when gazing out at the limitless horizon never quite left her. It was why she was in Starfleet, really. That, and the less visible but no less inspiring temporal horizon which lay at the edge of her work. That was why she was here, why they all were - to push the boundaries of knowledge, to discover. It united them, she thought, even in the most difficult of times.

This evening, though, Klara wasn't in the lounge to contemplate the great questions of the multiverse. Having come straight from the lab, she was still wearing her uniform, and she was there to contemplate a very specific question relating to the behaviour of tachyons in the lab, and so she had settled comfortably, PADD in her hand and a tall glass of a purplish concoction beside her. So intent was she on her reading that she managed to almost completely lose awareness of her surroundings.

She certainly wasn't expecting anyone to approach her - but perhaps someone would.
