Welcome to the Deck 5 Lounge

Working events like this was always a lot of fun, but when Tahiri saw Jaina come in, she decided it was a good time for a break. Grabbing a couple of drinks, she made her way over to her sister-in-law and handed her one as she pointed to a free sofa.

"You have good timing," she told the other woman. "I was just thinking it seemed like a good time to take a break and here you appear."

"Hey you," Jaina replied, happy to see her sister in law. She reached up and took the drink from her. "and you come bearing gifts, even better!" Between her training and Tahiri's work schedule, they hadn't really had a chance to talk in a while. There was certainly a lot to catch up on.

"I'd ask you the usual cheesy question about how's married life but I'm pretty sure the answer to that is that it's amazing judging from the smiles on your faces whenever I see one of you." Jaina was truly happy for Anakin and Tahiri. They'd been through a lot and had waited a long time to be together and no one deserved it more than they did.

Tahiri's bright smile probably answered Jaina's question for her. "It's pretty great," she admitted as she took a seat next to Jaina and settled in on the sofa. Marrying Anakin had certainly been a long time coming and and she couldn't be happier now.

"What about you?" she asked, grinning over the edge of her glass at her. "What's new in your life? Don't think I missed you getting cozy with a certain pilot when we were on Earth."

Jaina laughed. "Did you now? Well it's a little more than cozy these days and I'm pretty happy about that." she took a sip of her drink, a little smile on her lips. "He's amazing, Tahiri, he really is. We're so much alike, it's almost like meeting another part of myself. Except he's a lot more polite than I am somethimes but I blame Dad for that," she laughed.

Between finally getting to participate in pilot training and her continuing relaionship with Poe, Jaina couldn't be happier. "Giselle still doesn't appreciate him taking up her space in the bed but she's stopped hissing at him so we're making progress."

"More cozy, huh?" It was hard to miss the fact that Jaina was really happy and Tahiri couldn't help but grin back at her. Jaina had been through just as much as she and Anakin had and Tahiri was glad she'd finally managed to eke out some happiness for herself.

"And just how often is he taking up Giselle's spot on the bed?" Tahiri asks, her eyes sparkling with amusement as she eyes Jaina over her glass.

"Well some nights we sleep in his room," she said with a laugh. "because I figure since Giselle is pretty much confined to quarters when Rose is there, I'd give her a break. But there haven't been a lot of nights that we've spent apart since the first time." Even though it hadn't been very long, Jaina was happy and she loved every moment that she spent with Poe.

"It's funny, we see each other all day long in pilot training and usually we eat together although sometimes we don't then we meet up if we're not already together and....I'm not tirred of spending time with him," Jaina's voice held a note of surprise. "He doesn't expect anything from me, Thairi, he's not like the guys I've dated at home, who really just wanted to date me because of who I was or what they thought I could get Mom and Dad or Jacen for that matter to for them. Poe likes me just because I'm me and that's really awesome."

"Sounds like it's getting pretty serious," Tahiri observed with a smile. She was happy for Jaina, she really was. Seeing Jaina happy was seriously great and so what if she hadn't known Poe for very long. Sometimes, you just knew. She'd known Anakin since they were kids, true, but she'd also known from the moment she'd met him that he was going to be important. Maybe she hadn't quite pictured falling in love and getting married at that age, but it hadn't taken long for her to start thinking of him as family.

If Jaina had found that kind of connection here, she was thrilled for her. She knew she'd struggled at home, partly because of how well known her family was and partly because of the insanity that was their lives. It was nice to finally see her happy.

Jaina smiled. They hadn't exactly talked about it but she suppoed that Tahiri was right. "I guess it is," she replied. "we haven't come out and said that but it feels right." that alone was enough to convince Jaina. She had grown up with the Force being a huge part of her life and had known she'd be a Jedi from the very first. When she was with Poe, she felt more centered, more comfortable within the Force, something she hadn't experienced before.

"I worry though when people go back," she admitted. "I don't want to go, I don't want him to go but it's a very real possibility. I guess all I can do is be happy with whatever time we have."

Tahiri nodded. With her and Anakin, if they both got sent back they'd be together, but she sometimes wondered, what if just he did? She didn't really want to be here without him, especially after everything. She knew it had to be even worse for Jaina knowing she and Poe wouldn't have each other at home.

"I wish there was a way we could just choose to stay or go," she admitted. "I don't like thinking I could lose any of you at any moment. I want us all to stay for awhile. It's nice here."
