Welcome to the Hawaiian Luau!

All characters who joined the Hawaiian Islands excursion are invited to a traditional luau and pig roast in honor of the travelers. Enjoy drinks, dinner, hula, live music, a private beach, and each other.

Nat had noticed Tony dancing in a grass skirt. She even had her phone out to record this wonderful moment. And then Bruce showed up and took a seat next to her on the sand. "Are you kidding me, this is pure gold." She stated lightly as she put the phone away and came to take a sip of her beer before finally looking over at Bruce.

"Steve and Bucky are gone." She stated lightly as she exhaled. letting the wind blow in her red hair as she watched the fire and Tony be... Well, Tony.

It was funny. In theory. But Bruce was, by nature, a worrier. He could tell Tony wasn't dealing with things well. A drunk Tony was the Tony before Iron Man. Just like he could also tell that Natasha wasn't settling either. As he'd said to Tony - she seemed lonely.

"Remus, too. My roommate." Just in case she didn't know who he'd meant. "Seems to be the way of this place." Which he couldn't say he enjoyed. He liked having his little crowd here. Even Loki had been minding his manners, so to speak. The idea of losing them hurt.

"Peggy is my roommate." She replied as she came to bring her knees up and rest her elbows on them. That beer she took a sip of as she watched the fire crackle and Tony dance away. They had lost people here and gained others. Not many seemed to notice. Nat wouldn't have noticed either. But when it came to people she knew it hit home.

She was still hoping that Clint would show up, that would make things easier for her with dealing. Though Coulson was here and that was always great. But everyone had their things to do. So what was a spy with nothing to spy on to do?

"How you holding up?"

He knew, comparatively, he was lucky. Most of the people who meant the most to him were there. There were a few others he might have liked to have seen. But his closest friends were, and a girl he'd given up hope on long ago. If he could just keep the people in his life from falling apart now, that would be great.

"Pretty well," he admitted. "I've got a great job, amazing coworkers. There's some really great people on that ship, Nat. It wouldn't hurt you to meet them." Preferably in a slightly friendlier way than Natasha sometimes had to her. He understood, though. She'd spent most of her life forced to not get attached to anyone. "How's security working out?"

"I've met a few. Can't risk getting too close anymore... Not with them leaving." She added as she came to sip at her beer once more as she glanced over at Bruce and gave him a light smile. A fake smile but still it was something, wasn't it?

"Security was fun. Until Steve was sent back." She added as she sipped her beer once more. For a moment, it felt like old times with Rogers. But that was gone. By now, Nat was slowly reverting back to her old self. Keeping everyone away, since anyone she got close to left.

He hated that she felt that way. And he hated that there was nothing he could do about it. He cared, of course, but there was nothing to say that they wouldn't all be snatched up tomorrow, leaving her there alone. "Are you really planning on avoiding all personal attachments until we go home?" He asked, eyebrows raised.

Idly, he drew a pattern in the sand with his index finger. If he'd been paying attention, he'd have noticed it was the chemical makeup of radon. Because Bruce was, admittedly, a geek. "Loss is a part of our lives, Nat. We can't change that. Even back home, we lose people." As grateful as he was to know Coulson was...brought back somehow, he'd still grieved. And he knew, in their line of work, he wouldn't be the last they lost.

"Can't get hurt if you don't get attached." She replied as she came to finish off that beer. Placing the bottle in the sand. Luckily for her, she had gotten another one before taking a seat. Once that bottle was opened she would hold it to her lips before looking over at Bruce. "Makes things easier. Lets me focus on the current mission. Right now, security detail."

She added as she came to take a sip of the new bottle she had pulled out from beside her. Green eyes came to look over at Bruce for the moment and his drawing in the sand. A smirk along her lips as she shook her head. "Anyways, you have better things to do with your time than worry about me. I'll be fine. Always am."

All of his friends were drunks. That was it, wasn't it? He was going to glance over to find Jadzia on her eight drink, wasn't he? But no. It was just a couple of beers, he couldn't think that way.

"Nat, stop. This isn't a mission. This isn't SHIELD or the KGB or anything else you've been wrapped up in. We have a chance to be normal here. Or at least as close as people like us can get." Because the Avengers would never be normal. But they could maybe be regular people living regular lives. "If you think I'm going to listen when you say not to worry, you don't know me at all."

She came to look over at Bruce for the moment as she gave him a flatline smile. "You don't get it, Bruce. That's all I know. It's what I am. Spy, Assassin, Avenger, fugitive." She replied as she sipped at that drink once more as she watched Tony dance around and a few others do the same. he had the right idea, didn't he? Get lost in his demons.

But the thing was, Nat's demons weren't like the others. But it was something she'd deal with it as she always did. On her own. "You're not like us, Bruce. You got your second chance, and I'm happy for you I really am, but not all of us are that lucky. Besides, you had Betty long before you had the Hulk. You had a normal life. Some of us... For me this." She motioned to everyone having fun.

"Isn't normal for me. Being carefree isn't normal. I'm literally not programmed for normal. I just know how to blend in until something happens. "She said and if he heard closely he'd hear that light sniffle as she sipped at her bottle. Her normal was this, with Barton. And he wasn't here. Which meant one thing. She would revert into herself as a default.

Can't get hurt if you don't care. But she did smile to Bruce. "Come on Bruce, you have better things to do than worry about me. So, don't."

She did have a point. And he hated when she was right. But his life had been entirely normal before the accident. They'd been planning a marriage, kids, a nice house together. Natasha had never had any of that. The Red Room had stolen it from her and that wasn't something he could hold against her.

"You've spent your whole life blending in," he reminded her. "That's what spying is. So...maybe blend in here. Pretend it's an assignment. See if you can train in something different than security." Security aboard a ship didn't sound too thrilling anyway. Unless his fears came true and one of the ship's arrivals caused problems. Which included him.

He watched her for a moment before sipping at his drink. "I have other things to do. Not better. Because you can try and push me away all you want, but we were friends before..." Well. Before. How did he phrase it? They'd never gotten further than some pretty intense flirting, at leaat, not on his end. So what had they been, exactly? "I don't intend to stop just because we're on a space ship years in the future."

"You're right. I am pushing you away." She stated as she came to look at him. "You're an amazing man, and I adore you still. But you have Betty now. And all I'll be is a distraction." She replied as she came to look at Bruce finally. "She's very lovely. And she cares a lot about you. So I don't want to ruin that or get in the middle of it." She replied as she came to exhale and finish that beer for the moment.

"As for blending in. I blend in when I;m not being noticed. The only one who seems to notice me is you." She came to look at Bruce once more as she placed her hand on the side of his face. "Trust me, Banner, if it's one thing I've come to accept about myself is nothing good stays with me. That includes friends and loved ones." She replied as she rubbed his cheek lightly with a flatline smirk.

A light kiss on his cheek was given, as she caught the edges of his lips. But she came to a stand after that. "Focus on work. Focus on Betty, focus on Tony since he needs you more than I do. Remember, I've been on my own half my life, long before SHIELD came along. It makes things easier." She stated lightly.

She thought about Steve and Bucky and how they just left. How Bruce had found his soulmate which was a rare thing to happen and even Tony had found someone. That life wasn't meant for Nat. She came to accept that now. As she came to let her red hair dance in the wind for the moment. If he looked closely, he would notice that wet stain on her features from a tear or two escaping.

"I'll see you around Bruce. I'll try not to be too much of a stranger."
