Tony and Anyone, come on over!

Roasting pigs smelled delicious and Tony had already sampled the buffet, the bar, and the hula dancing. He did love him some Hawaiian food, and he especially loved him some Mai Tais.

True to form, he could be found shirtless and in swimming trunks, with a grass skirt around his waist, doing his own version of a Hula. Probably by the bonfire, and probably with a drink in his hand.

(OOC: feel free to come interrupt him to chat, drag him off somewhere to get food, dance with him, or even just assume he's so drunk he needs to go home. I'm open XD )

Will was enjoying Hawaii. Before he had gone to Starfleet Academy, he hadn't left Alaska and even then the rare times he had, he'd gone over the border into Canada. Hawaii was a place he'd never been and it was everything that he'd heard it was. He was enjoying the luau, the food was good, he would never turn down an open bar and there was also some unscheduled entertainment.

Tony Stark in a grass skirt.

Raising an eyebrow, he approached Tony and said "That grass skirt doesn't look half bad on you. Or maybe it's the Mai Tais."

"I like to think I look at least half good in just about anything," Tony remarked, smirking at Riker. Of all the people on the ship, getting graced by the presence of the formerly known 'Number One' was probably one of the more unexpected things that could have happened to him. He approved. Much approval.

He held up his Mai Tai, and shook it around a bit, "Mine could use a little topping off. How many of these do you think it'd take to get YOU into a grass skirt?"

"I have no idea," he laughed. "It's been a while since I've been on a good drinking binge so it might be fewer than it used to be." Will had certainly had his fun back in the day but as he spent more time on the ship and less time taking vacations, it had been a while.

"I'll have one of those mai tais though. I can't promise the grass skirt but the drink sounds good."

"Awww, come on. Admit it. You'd look fetching in a grass skirt." Tony said, giving Will a teasing smirk. It was hard to tell if he was flirting or drunk or both, and Tony didn't really care.

He waved Will in the direction of the bar, "Now that you're not in command, you can enjoy getting a little bit embarrassingly drunk. It's okay. I'm here for you. I'll even buy."

Will wasn't drunk but he was definitely not feeling any pain. It was nice to be able to let his hair down and he felt less awkward than he did on the ship. He'd been part of the senior staff on the Enterprise D for so long that not being part of that team felt as if he'd lost a part of himself. So he would drink and talk to Tony who seemed to be the type of person who could have a good time anywhere.

"I'll be right back then," he said and headed off to get them some more drinks and when he returned, he sat down on the sane after handing Tony his drink. "So I've read some of your posts on the network. Space isn't your thing I take it."

Comping a squat down on the sand next to Will, Tony took his fresh drink and saluted Will with it before nodding his head. It was okay to talk about Space when you'd had this many Mai Tais, and maybe a guy like Riker would understand his issues.

"Yeah, it's like - I almost died up there once. There were wormholes and aliens and Space Whales. Not a fun time. Do not recommend that experience for good times. And man I just feel so out of place out there."

"Damn, I'm sorry you had such a horrible experience," Will replied. For him, there was nothing like being in space, it was all he'd ever wanted to do, partly to get away from his father and partly because it had always fascinated him. An experience like Tony's though....he could easily see why the man wasn't fond of space.

"Being on the Enterprise must be really hard for you. If it's any consolation, I know that they keep a close watch on things, it's a sturday ship." Which might not be a lot of comfort but it was the only thing he could think to offer. "If you don't mind my asking, how did you get up there in the first place?"

"Hey, it is what it is," Tony said, while shrugging. But he was definitely not feeling as low key about it as he liked to try and pretend, and he knocked back about half of his mai tai before replying to Riker's next question.

"OH. Well. There was a wormhole, and aliens were coming through it with an invasion force. Like they do. So the world council decided to nuke Manhattan, because of course they did, and I had to grab the nuke mid-flight and take it up through there. Into space. But my suit isn't designed for space. So it didn't end well. I mean most of it did. The nuke made friends with all those aliens who weren't happy to see it and Manhattan got to live another day, at least."

It sounded awful and Will found himself wondering exactly what kind of suit Tony had. "So you have some kind of suit? I'm just curious."

He also couldn't imagine why a group calling itself the World Security Concil would want to blow up major city like New York. "I'm not so sure I'd trust a group who would want to blow up New York."

"I had - I mean it didn't come here with me. Yeah, kind of like. I guess you'd call it a fancy exo suit. But no, I don't think anyone actually trusts those guys. They thought a nuke would solve the alien problem. You know, keep it 'contained'." Tony said, bringing up his fingers to make air quotes on that last word.

She wasn't good at these scenarios, and was uncomfortable with them at best, but she's making an attempt — insofar as to allow one of the officers she'd somewhat befriended at HQ talk her into dressing for the occasion. Perhaps it wasn't proper luau attire, but for someone who normally refuses to don more suitable clothing, it's progress. Especially seeing as the sleeveless outfit leaves some of the more disturbing aspects of her liberation bare for the world to see.

"Tony Stark. I trust you are enjoying yourself."

Maybe there were parts of Seven's body that were alarming to look at for some. She'd certainly seen her fair share of scary stuff, and her time with the Borg wasn't going away anytime soon. But Tony didn't see any of the metal parts as negative - in fact, he was just happy to see her dressed up in casual clothes and at the party at all.

He cracked a huge grin at her, "Hey Bee. You can just call me Tony, you know."

It's certainly a progressive step in the right direction for her, but don't expect her to put on one of Kirk's uniforms any time soon.

"Tony," she parroted, speaking it like a foreign word in a tongue she wasn't accustomed to speaking.

The Collective may not have had a true hierarchy beyond the Queen, but having been liberated into the midsts of a rank structured vessel hadn't exactly left her any room to get used to informalities.

"You are wearing a skirt made of fibers."

Tony grinned at her as she parroted his name, enjoying the idea that she might one day be more accustomed to being informal with her friends. It was probably a long journey, but he didn't mind walking her through the steps.

Then he looked down at himself, and nodded. "Yup. I'm wearing a grass skirt. We should all be glad there's stuff on under it, means I haven't gotten TOO drunk yet."

Perhaps she will be. Being aboard the Enteprise has certainly put her in the right environment to do so. More civilians, less rank and ceremony, the freedom to express herself beyond the rigid confines of others' expectations.

"I take that to mean that when you are inebriated you lose all sense of modesty."

By human standards, of course. Seven didn't share in the cultural aversion to nudity and promiscuous behavior.

"Back where I'm from, there are plenty of videos around on the internet that involve me with my clothes off, drunk as a Lord." Tony informed her, nodding his head.

His hips were still kind of swinging a bit to the music, and his drink sloshed a little in his hand. It was newly refilled, but he hadn't taken a sip yet. "You should join me. Try and move to the music, it's fun."

Tabloids and paparazzi aren't exactly things she's familiar with. Perhaps one day she'll find herself well acquainted with them, thrust unwillingly into the limelight when and if Voyager returns to Earth. But there are no holocams being shoved into her face, no rumors and speculations circulating media outlets... Just pure confusion as to why there would be videos of him behaving in an unscrupulous manner.

She doesn't comment on it.

"Join you in dancing or drinking?"

"Dancing." Tony replied, without any hesitation. There were plenty of people he'd push a drink towards or try to cajole into taking up alcohol, but Bee wasn't one of them. He figured if she was ever curious he'd help, but until that day he was going to stick with other activities to introduce her to.

He took a long sip off his drink and set it off to the side, then held out a hand. "Here, com here. It'll be okay."

Seven hesitated, pausing for a moment before she reached out to take his hand with her augmented one. Dancing was listed on the social lessons that the Doctor had constructed for her, but it was one she had yet to get to. A necessity she didn't necessarily see purpose in, even if she could dimly — very dimly — recall twirling about the corridors of the Raven while pretending to be a ballerina.

"I am inexperienced in this activity. You will have to demonstrate the movements."

"We're not gonna hula dance, because I'm pretty bad at that if we're being honest. This one's just a basic one. But it kind of needs an arm on your waist. You okay with that?" Tony asked, while holding up his free hand and indicating where it went.

He wasn't about to go sticking his hands on her without a warning. He knew better.

Seven was good at following directions, though not always at mimicking human movements. Her first attempt at eating with a fork in eighteen years had been awkward at best. Starting with something basic and simple was the way to go.

"You my proceed," she instructed, giving him permission. She trusted Tony, which spoke volumes for the opinion she had of his character. "Where do my hands belong?"

"Okay. This one goes here." He said, while taking one of her hands in his. He motioned to her other hand, then, and gestured towards his arm. "When I put my other hand on you, you put that hand on my arm here. Then we just... move to the music. I lead us a step one way, and you follow."

After a pause he added, "Or you can lead us a step and I'll follow. I'm okay with that."

Seven placed her hands where instructed, careful to keep her grip loose, relaxed. She'd made the mistake before of being too firm with her touch, accidentally injuring crewmates who were not nearly as durable as a drone was. And although Seven was no longer a drone, she was still Borg — she always would be — and thus was significantly stronger than the average person. It was something she was learning to be mindful of.

"This is new for me. I will follow your lead."

There was something about Seven putting this much trust in Tony that made his drunken little heart go just the slightest bit squishy, and he gave her a genuinely warm smile before starting to slowly dance with her along to the music.

It was the kind of dancing you'd see at weddings or school dances - not a lot of movement so much as a sway back and forth, working around in a circle to the beat of the music.
