Welcome to the Deck 5 Lounge

Each Saturday, join the Enterprise crew and your fellow travelers in the Deck Five Lounge to meet new arrivals, catch up with those you haven't seen in a few days, try a new drink, or just enjoy the spectacular view.

Kaylee Frye and OTA (multiples ok)

Kaylee was just about finishing her first week on the Enterprise and she had to say, it was a pretty amazing place. She had joined the Engineering department and was excited to learn everything she could about this ship that was so much more advanced than anything she was used to. While she missed the crew members that weren't with them, she was glad to have Book and River and Simon. Well. Simon was being awkward, though that wasn't really new.

The bar on board was incredible. It made her wish Serenity had a bar, even though there wasn't really a place to put one. Kaylee ordered a beer and sat at one of the tables that looked out into space. The fantastic views were just one more great thing about this ship.

	Liz took a seat next to Kaylee and let out a huff. She was nursing her own beer and looked as if she was finding a hard time finding a seat. "Place is getting crowded." 	"Kaylee," she replied, reaching out her hand to shake. She didn't mind the company and she looked forward to getting to know someone new. "You been here a long time?" 	"Ah, yeah, seems a lot of people are also from Earth though," Kaylee said. "People don't live on Earth anymore in my time. I'm kinda excited that we're gonna get to see it though." 	"Nine," Kaylee said. "That's it. Probably could have had a few more, but we made do. Real different from the Enterprise though." She took a sip of her beer. "Nah, I love flyin'. 	"You get used to it," she said. "Sorry if it's botherin' you though. Have you heard about the holodeck?" That could be helpful - let Liz go in and pretend to be somewhere else for a while. "I ain't been in there yet, but I heard it's real realistic." It was something to check out, of course. Kaylee liked experiencing new things, and apparently in the holodeck you could go just about anywhere, even if it was fake.

"Could be some old movies on the PADD though. They might have stuff from a real long time ago." She took another sip of her beer. "Might be worth a look."

	"Maybe I'll try it. --The old movies might be comforting. When I was really small and the Bureau took me in, everyone was afraid of me. Hellboy would watch old movies with me." Part of her wanted to ask if Liz was orphaned as a child, but Kaylee also didn't want to bring up bad memories for her. She was upset as it was. "Was he your friend?" "One of my best friends. Approximately 7 feet tall, completely red, and one big stone for a hand. Horns, too, but he filed them down. He convinced them to let me out of solitary." Liz smiled at the memory of the creature. Then she thought of Abe and Roger. Thinking of Roger made her need another drink.

"I'm going to go find myself another drink to drink." She looked confused for a moment. Was she tipsy? "It was nice talking to you, ... Kaylee was it?"
