She winked, with both eyes. "The last thing I did was help rebuild and restore a complex artificial intelligence after she was nearly destroyed by a malevolent brother. We called her The Machine, and she had a moral code and somewhat of a playful personality at times."
Root tilted her head. "There was a bit of some growing pains though, we had to re-teach her nuance. Shades of gray, rather than a strict definition of good and bad."
After all, everyone agreed murder was bad, even if Root hadn't believed that until the past three years. But what if you had to kill to stop a murder?
