Lady Mary Crawley ([info]ladycontrary) wrote in [info]toboldlyrpg,
Jim & Mary
It took Mary a moment for her to recognize him without his uniform on. In jeans and a leather jacket, he blended in with all of the other off-duty crew members. There was a way that Jim Kirk held himself though. Even while off-duty it was clear that he was in charge.

Mary wasn't a woman who often went to bars. That wasn't to say that she didn't drink, just that bars weren't considered proper for a lady of her status. This bar seemed decidedly casual, much more casual than the dress she was wearing, which she had thought was incredibly casual. Why was everyone wearing laboring clothing like jeans at a social gathering? The dress itself had been a find. The machines called replicators on this ship were truly spectacular things, allowing her to make a dress that reminded her of the ones from home in mere minutes. Mind-blowing.

Many people stopped by to chat with Jim or just to say hello, so Mary held back for a moment, waiting until he was alone to approach him. She saw her opportunity when he was leaning against the bar, drinking a beer out of the bottle. (Not a very gentlemanly pose if one asked her.)

"Captain Kirk," Mary said, her posture straight as she held out her hand to him. "I am Lady Mary Crawley. We spoke on the PADD."
