SUMMARY: The devil is reunited with his favorite demon.
WARNINGS: None

Lucifer had to laugh when he saw Maze's comments appear, telling him to turn around not once, but twice. So finally he did look behind him and there she was. Mazikeen. The demon willing to follow him out the gates of hell was now traveling with him through both space and time. If he'd been the emotional sort, he might have risen from his barstool to hug her.

Instead he simply said, "Maze. It's about bloody time you got here."

Even that came out cheerful somehow.

The second Lucifer had told her to come to the bar, Mazikeen had already left her room and started down one of the many hallways. Of course, she still had her device that they had given her because she was also too busy talking to people on it. Well, if she had to be trapped on this flying tin can then she might as well get to know the other residents, right?

It hadn’t taken her long to find the bar, but since Lucifer had been pushy about her showing up, she made sure to stay out of view until she finally told him to turn around over the network. “I was busy,” she told him as she held up the device and gave it a little wave before she sat down beside him.

“So, how long do you think we’ll be trapped on this thing?”

	"Hopefully not too long, as these are the only clothes I have and most of the other people I've seen are dressed... poorly," Lucifer replied. "I still can't believe we're here, and that I'm just supposed to accept that this is my life now. If I still had my wings..." He stopped himself. That was sure to be a sore spot. Maze just shook her head at the fact that Lucifer seemed completely stuck on the fact that they only had the clothing that they came aboard the ship with. Well, it could be worse. She could have been taken when she was wearing the hospital scrubs. “Are you talking about the uniforms? I wonder if they’ll try to get us to wear those things.”

She knocked on the bar to get the bartender’s attention and once she had it she ordered herself a drink.

“Do you think anyone else we know will show up?” So far it just been herself and Lucifer, which made her curious. Why them? And would anyone else from home get nabbed as well.

"I'm talking about... this," he said, gesturing around the room. There were very few people who seemed capable of dressing themselves around.

Glancing at Maze, he added, "I don't know. Someone has already made me realize that as we've traveled far into the future, the Detective has long since made her way to the Silver City." The lot of them were gone. That was a depressing thought and he downed his glass.

Maze took a quick look around the bar before she rolled her eyes. She had nothing to say about that subject because she didn’t really care.

She grabbed her drink the moment it was set down and took a sip. “But that is in this reality. I mean if you believe the story they’re feeding us about rips in time and all of that mumbo jumbo.” She wasn’t completely sure if she believed everything they had told her when she woke up here, but she really couldn’t think of a better explanation either. “But, she’s not there in our world. So, who’s to say that she and anyone else won’t show up here the same way that we did?”

Maze didn’t really get why Lucifer changed the subject. It wasn’t like they were talking about anything bad. Hell, she thought Lucifer would like the idea of others from their home showing up here.

She finished off her drink and ordered another.

She just shrugged. “What can I say, I adapt very well to any surrounding.” That was how they had to blend in with the humans, right? Being here on a ship was no different than being on Earth.

	“I did,” Maze said truthfully, “but that was before I started to make friends and find myself amongst the humans.” She had to think about the answer to his question for a moment. Lucifer really did have Linda to thank when it came to Maze adjusting to life in Los Angeles. If he didn't know better, he would think he was feeling nostalgic.

"Well, there's someone I couldn't live without, and she's here," Lucifer said. "I don't know how we both ended up here or even where here really is but it could be worse." That was as close as Lucifer got to being sentimental, and he would have punctuated the statement by taking a sip, but his glass was empty so instead he turned to signal for another drink.

“Are you talking about me?” Maze asked, eyebrow raised. Something wasn’t right. She thought for sure he would be talking about how he wanted Chloe to show up. He had basically been glued to her side since the moment they met. “You don’t want Chloe here?” she finally asked.

Lucifer had one thing right, they could have ended up somewhere far worse than this place, not that she saw this place as bad…yet. She did wish they’d give her her blades back. “We’ve survived Earth and we can survive this weirdness.”

"No, I'm talking about the woman who welcomed me earlier," Lucifer replied. "Of course I'm talking about you. Who followed me out of Hell to Los Angeles, adapted and made a life there when I insisted that we stayed? Who cut off my wings when I asked and later burned them for me?"

Relieved when he had a new drink in hand, he added, "Of course I'd like to see the detect... Chloe here. Even if I was running away from her at the moment I ended up here. It hasn't really set in yet."

Maze just stared at him when he joked about it being somebody else. She didn’t always find his jokes funny. “You burned them. I just went and cleaned up your mess.” She definitely hadn’t been happy when he had done that, but he had his reasons then and she pretty much got over it.

She took a sip of own drink. “Wait, back up there. What do you mean you were running away from her before you were brought here? Why would you be running away from her? I mean, you pretty much died and went back to Hell to save her.” She was missing something and she didn’t like it when she didn’t have the full picture. Lucifer better start explaining.

"Those wings really would be helpful now, wouldn't they? Or maybe they wouldn't be." He shrugged, but was more puzzled as to why he'd said she'd burned his wings, especially since he could still remember the look on Amenadiel's face as he'd tossed the lighter. This business with the detective was distracting, even hundreds of years in the future, in space.

Glancing back at Maze, he added, "I really don't know."

“I don’t think it would have mattered.” Whatever brought them here, it was something they hadn’t encountered before.

Maze tilted her head a bit and gave Lucifer a look that screamed that she did not believe him. “Don’t tell me that. You know exactly why you were doing what you were doing. You always know why you do things. So, spill it, Lucifer. What was going on before you were pulled here?” She had no idea anything had gone on after Lucifer and his mom came back from Hell. She and Linda had left the hospital since they didn’t want to get caught.

Maze was still confused and it showed on her face. “Okay, let’s back up here. Chloe got the antidote and then what happened?” Something obviously happened between then and now and Maze wanted to know what that something was. And the more she thought about it the more she wondered if it was because of the things Lucifer’s mother had told him. “Are you still all weird because of what your mother told you about Chloe?”

"She got better. I avoided her calls. When I found out she'd be leaving the hospital I closed down Lux and headed out of town. And obviously I'm not alright with my father having placed the Detective in my life. I'm tired of being his pawn!"

His voice grew progressively louder and he had to stop himself from yelling. "I didn't plan on running this far though and now I can't go back."

And he wanted to go back.

	Maze sighed. She should have known this was the reason why Lucifer was acting the way that he was acting. "I know you are." She glanced around when he started to get louder. A few people started to look their way, but it wasn't like she actually cared. "Maybe you're not meant to go back. Not yet. You could think of this as your vacation from your vacation."
