It was clear from the look on her face that she was speaking from experience, but Kate didn't let herself go into any further detail. She had never told Lucifer why she became a cop, and while she probably would one day, now wasn't the time.
"Oh God," Kate scoffed at this last statement, shaking herself out of memories of her mother and all the sadness and darkness that came with it by rolling her eyes at him again. "Mary Crawley isn't as delicate as you like to think she is."
