Who: Daniel Jackson & Lucifer
What: Awkward fun meeting
Where: Gym
When: Evening
Rating: ?
Status: Incomplete

Daniel had realised recently that he had gotten so involved with his work that he hadn't been going to the gym that often. Jack would have had his head if he had known. While back home and even here his job was primarily linguistics and research, working for the Stargate program showed that you never knew when you might need to step up and actually fight for your life and the lives of others with you. While he hadn't had to yet while on the Enterprise it wouldn't do to be out of shape if the time ever came, especially as not everyone here was trained in combat. Sure, the Enterprise had it's own Security teams but they couldn't be everywhere all the time. Plus, training also meant keeping fit and healthy which had it's own benefits in the long run too.

So really, there was no reason he shouldn't be taking the time to exercise.

So that was why Daniel found himself in the gym that evening trying to get a decent workout in before he wound up for the night. Everything was different to what he was used too but at the same time there was enough similarities that he wasn't too out of his depth for which he was grateful for. Having stripped off his shirt, Daniel found himself at a weight station. Having started on a lighter weight than he might have otherwise just to get back into the swing of things, he had despite that been going long enough to develop a light sheen of sweat across his torso.

"That depends," Lucifer said. "How is it that you imagine them? On clouds with harps? That's a negative. With a flaming sword? I kind of destroyed that... Little kids with cherub cheeks and tufted wings, hell no. Recycled dead humans? Again, no."

He'd heard hundreds of depictions of angels over the years. Most were terribly inaccurate.

"I honestly don't know. I know that they're often depicted with wings and halos but honestly I don't think that makes sense. Maybe wings but even then I think that might be pushing it. It's not something I've truly thought of before. Very pretty though then again that might be me buying into the stereotype which isn't good," Daniel mused.

Lucifer stopped running, and instead chose to ride the treadmill to the end before jumping off. Then he unfurled his wings to answer Daniel's question. "No on the halos though. You were right there."

And then he folded his wings back up and jumped back on the treadmill, as if nothing unusual had happened.

Daniel thankfully hadn't picked up the weights again when Lucifer jumped off and unfolded his wings or there might have been a serious accident. "Oh wow," he breathed out completely amazed by the wings that Lucifer had unfolded. They were large and beautiful and he wasn't sure if they were what he thought they would be but... They were real wings.

"Yes," Lucifer said. "That's how people tend to react to seeing them. But trust me when I say the splendor grows old, particularly after you've cut them off for the tenth or so time..."

He shrugged. "Anyway, what is that you do, exactly that had you crossing paths with aliens impersonating Egyptian deities?"

"I can see why," he replied still in awe.

"I worked as a civilian consultant to the Military. It was a program that took us to various other planets not only to research but also to protect Earth in anyway possible," he explained the Stargate program in a very simple way.

"Well, that sounds mildly interesting," Lucifer said. "I was a civilian consultant to the Los Angeles Police Department. After I retired as Lord of Hell, of course."

As if it was obvious that the devil could retire and then become a crime solver.

Increasing the speed on the treadmill, he didn't even break a sweat as he added, "Oh, and I owned a nightclub. Lux."

"It was for sure especially when we weren't running for our lives. I imagine working for the police was interesting?" he asked.

"I bet that was a killer nightclub," Daniel said with a slight smirk.
