Hopefully this time I won't disappear against my will.
WHO: Peggy Carter and Lucifer Morningstar
WHEN: Back on Risa
WHERE: A beach on Risa
SUMMARY: Catching up.
WARNINGS: Nah.

True to her word, Lucifer had been able to find Peggy on the beach with Phil. He wasn't certain when that had happened, but he'd found it interesting. There was also the added benefit that Peggy seemed slightly more relaxed this time around and Lucifer wasn't sure if that could be attributed to Phil, Risa, or a combination of the two. Either way, he wasn't going to complain about it after he'd showed up and asked her to go on a walk with him and she'd agreed almost easily.

That was new, and he liked it.

He couldn't stop himself from commenting on that. "You do seem like you've learned to relax."

Peggy twisted to glance up at him, one eyebrow arched above the sunglasses she worse. "It depends on the situation," she said. "I've always been capable of taking a vacation, when time allowed it. Which is very different from your definition of relaxing when it comes to the work week." Still, she smiled at him and motioned for him to join her on the warm sand.

Lucifer considered the sand for a moment, but then joined Peggy on the beach, sitting next to her despite the fact that he'd get sand in his clothes that would never completely come out. Glancing at her he said, "I should tell you something, about my time away."

She wasn't sure why that sounded ominous - maybe it was simply because it was Lucifer who was saying it to her. She nodded slowly. "What about it?" she asked. Peggy stretched her legs out in front of her, digging her tore into the hot sand with a sigh.

“I looked you up,” Lucifer said simply.

She blinked and turned to him again. "Looked me up? What do you mean?"

"I mean I wanted to find out more about you so I researched your life." He paused, and when he continued speaking his voice sounded irritated, "Only, it all felt rather invasive and I had to stop which is annoying, because my only other option was to hope I made it back here and then hope you'd tell me more. And in all that I didn't learn anything about you that I didn't already know while still feeling the need to tell you that I did so."

Considering Peggy with a brow raised, he asked, "Do you know how obnoxious that was?"

At first, Peggy was equally as irritated, and she bit back a quick, oh how convenient that was for you, and instead clucked her tongue once and shook her head. "I would consider if very invasive as well," she said after a moment.

"I know," Lucifer said. "Which is why I had to stop and that's bloody annoying. I kept thinking about how you would feel about it, which is terribly inconvenient and not something I'm used to considering."

"And how did you think I'd feel about it?" she asked him, crossing her arms over top of her swimsuit.

"About the way you're acting now," Lucifer answered cheerfully. "Annoyed and put out. Which is why I gave up even though it was tempting to finally learn all the salacious details of your life."

"I'm afraid you'd probably only be disappointed anyway. Salacious is not a word that would ever be used to describe my life. Even the life I haven't lived yet, surely."

"That's not for lack of opportunity," Lucifer pointed out, shaking his head slightly with a teasing grin. "But you should fill me in on what I've missed in your life here, while I was gone."

"What you've missed here?" Peggy laughed lightly and shook her head. "Not much, I'm afraid. This is our first time away from the ship since Fornax. Not much going on at all. The usual comings and goings, but that's not anything new."

"Not with the ship," Lucifer corrected. "With you… I mean there's one obvious thing that I don't remember being true when I left…"

"Well, you were gone for some time," she pointed out, "and we didn't all just stop living our lives just because you disappeared." Peggy smirked a little bit as she said it.

"Well good on you, Agent Carter," Lucifer said, beaming. "What's life if you can't enjoy yourself?"

Peggy smiled right back at him. "For what it's worth, Lucifer, I'm glad you've come back."

Lucifer hadn't been sure that Peggy was going to admit that to him, and his smile only grew as she did. "I'm glad to be back," he replied truthfully. "Hopefully this time I won't disappear against my will."
