Ok, here's my plan for keeping and retiring charas.
Charlie - mostly retired and probably only appearing if needed for stuff with Maggie and Ava. He would be more of an NPC unless requested for specific plots. He is living off campus now and running his own business with his brother, Lewis.
Starbuck - retired and in Maui raising his kids with Kim. But he's available for chats if his friends stay in game.
Reese and Peyton - fully retired.
Nox - he's still teaching at TJS and happily married to Belle. They will probably have adopted an extra kid or two but we still have to work out the details.
Remington - he's still working security and has picked up Charlie's job of teaching self defense. He's "dating" Candi and committed to her and may be persuaded to make a bigger commitment, but that's up to her to nag him ;) ***major change with him - he's getting a PB change to Michael Fassbender*** I'll alter when I'm home tonight.
Maggie - she will be enrolled in the college program at TJS, because she is only 18 in actuality since the aging virus hit her at 8 years of age and she was frozen looking like a 16 year old when turned into a vampire. She often stays with Ava or off campus at her parents' or Charlie's.
Frankie - she will be teaching English at TJS, having gotten her bachelors and masters degrees in the past ten years. She is also married to Grey (five years) and they have two kids, a 9 year old daughter and a 7 year old son. Still working on the names and details for them.

So I've noticed a lot of people posting where their children will be in the coming years, and while I don't have a bunch of guidelines made up so far, I have a few that will help you guys in your process of making newbies.
You have a limit on how many of your old characters you can keep in the game. It will either be 3 or 4, haven't decided yet. The point of this change is for change, not the same crap ten years in the future.
You are required at least ONE teenaged character. Teenagers force players to get creative, since there are rules they need to abide and they don't have the finances/freedom adults do. The main objective here is that TJS is a school, and when you have no one of actual school age, it gets easy to forget that and then we end up exactly where we are now.
NPCs are limited in play. You can have as many NPCs as your heart desires, but this means they are background characters, which means they are not incorporated in everyday game play. Don't have all your old characters as NPCs and expect that means they get to be in scenes every day and just hang around the school for the hell of it.
The whole reason we are doing this change is to try something new. So let's actually make it new.
ALSO: Do you guys need another game week after this one, or do you think this should be the last until the game closes for maintenance?
