So, I'm freaking out.. officially. We're about to get slammed by one of the worst ice storms in the state's history. The National Weather Service actually called it a "catastrophic event". There's already probably a half inch of sleet on the roads (which is why it took me an hour and a half to get home from work tonight). In the morning, we're supposed to have 1/4 inch of solid ice, with more than an inch by tomorrow afternoon. They're talking about the entire middle third of the state losing power for more than a week, and all travel being essentially impossible.
And guess what... I get to go to work for it.
IF! I manage to make it home after work tomorrow night (highly unlikely), I probably won't have power (or heat). If I can't leave the station, then I'll be living there until the roads are drivable again, which probably won't be for a while, since we'll stay below freezing through Monday.
Everyone keep your fingers crossed that I don't die while driving to work in the morning.
