Hi everyone! It's Britt, and this is character numero dos for me.
Meet Harlow Montgomery. She says you can make fun of her name, she's heard it. Her mother was obsessed with old timey movie stars, blah blah blah, no she doesn't have a nickname, please don't call her Harley because she is not a motorcycle.
ASIDE from the issue of her name, Harlow is almost 25, a photographer (well... perhaps a former photographer), and a very, very newly turned vampire. As in, little to no control over her bloodlust even though she TRIES desperately, new. Adjusting to this vampire lifestyle is not something she's particularly enjoying. It's incredibly creepy to want to drink everyone you come across, from complete strangers to family.. It's also weird that she doesn't, for some reason, despise her "sire" even though she thinks he was a moron who should have been more responsible and none of this would have happened. She can hate him from afar, but when he's near there's this irritating warm fuzzy feeling that she wants to squash. And, worst of all, Harlow used to be a nature/wildlife photographer. For the most part, this requires sunlight. She misses going out on two week photoshoots in the middle of nowhere. She misses being up at sunrise every morning to take pictures using those first lovely rays of light, and she misses everything about her job. Unfortunately, while there can be nighttime aspects to wildlife and nature photography, it's kind of not a full time gig.
As far as background, she was born and raised in LA. Her dad is an oncology researcher, her mom is a daytime soap opera actress. She went to private schools, then college at NYU, where she started out as a biology major with a focus in zoology (her favorite was herpetology. What? reptiles are cool) before she realized how much happier she would be if she pursued her true love, photography. Much to her father's dismay as he continues to mourn her wasted scientific potential, she never looked back. Until now...
Anyway, she's a sweetie, for the most part. She can get lost in her own head pretty easily so sometimes you have to work to get her to come out of her shell, but not to the point that she's aloof or rude. She's just... pensive. She almost always has a camera on her person somewhere. She loves math and science, is not a big partier (she will drink, it's just not really her favorite pastime) and she's a chronic early-riser, which sucks when you're a vampire. She will be staying at TJS over the entire summer due to not wanting to bite people in the outside world.
And she's really, really sorry if she looks at you like you're food. She doesn't mean anything by it. Really.

Guess I should post that Garret's leaving, although it seems kind of redundant to say since he's already made his goodbye email post. He'll be gone by Friday afternoon after he sends out his emails and makes his delivery to Lloyd. If you wanna talk to him before he goes, cool, but you won't be able to change his mind. I've run out of reasons to keep him here so he's gonna go. Maybe someday he'll come back, but it seems unlikely.
