Hi everyone!
So I'll say something about myself now, since I'm new and all ("NEW PLAYER!!" made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!).
My name is, as stated, Tess. I'm from California, and I'm going to be going to vet school here in about three months. Yeah, I know, crazy. Crazier still is that it's in the Caribbean. Ha! It shouldn't cut into my play time too horribly, but don't be surprised if there are random moments where I try to beat my head against a wall while learning anatomy/pharmacology/histology/etc.
I've been roleplaying for... oh god... how many years? Twelve? And yet I'm relatively new to the message-board format. The only other group I was a part of... well... it kind of died. After I'd only been part of one thread.
So... I've been stalking the site for a couple weeks now, and that's why I decided to join. You guys are so active and I'm looking forward to playing Emma! She's a sleep demon, very easy-going, laid back, generally sweet, and an utter coffee fiend. She was born and raised in Africa, so a lot of things that people say/do are going to get odd looks and need explaining. Pretend she's a foreign exchange student! Haha.

Hey everyone!
It's Criss and this is my 6th char? Wow. I just realized that. ANYWAY ---
Kelsey is a 30-something year old human woman with a power called local retro-cognition. Basically, she can see explicitly detailed past events in certain areas as long as she is physically in that area. It's generally got to be a small contained room, and not like, an entire meadow or something. She doesn't have specific control over it. While she can focus on a specific year, focusing on a specific day/time of day is almost impossible for her.
She's friendly and relatively normal. She's a new divorcee and a little distrustful -- but that's not abnormal either. In fact, the only thing relatively funky about her?
She's deaf. Yep. Can't hear most anything. Never has been able to. She can read lips and sign. And she CAN TALK. She went to deaf schools since she was a child. Unless someone has tons of experience dealing with the hearing impaired they will not be able to 'hear' in her voice that she was born deaf.
Since the majority of the world's population is NOT deaf, sometimes regularly speaking, hearing people don't realize the things they do that would make communicating with a deaf person difficult. So in order to help me play my deaf char, help me out. !
If your char stutters, mumbles, looks away, looks down while speaking.. MENTION IT! Because Kelsey won't be able to understand what the hell they are saying! Feel free to call her from behind her back, or to tap on her shoulder and scare the shit out of her because she didn't hear footsteps approaching.
