It looks like I'll be a part of the council for this particular mission, and I want to thank you for your confidence in electing me.

I would like to take this time to encourage anyone who has ideas or suggestions about how we proceed to please come and talk to me. Particularly if you have some knowledge of this particular world or the challenges the council may face.

It looks as if we three will be working together to try to direct things this time around. I figured we should talk together and get to know each other a bit better and perhaps discuss what ideas we have moving forward.

Not a bad idea. Still dealing with this weird power thing, which isn't going to make things better, but I've got some ideas to bounce off. Right now my priority is getting these people out of jail, making sure no one gets hurt, and figuring out how this all got started.

Also figuring out a story to tell these folks why we're sticking our noses in things. Saying something different every time might cause suspicion.

Matt Murdock has offered legal services, which might help with the jail front.

But I think this is a good point - my priority is making certain no one gets hurt, and then dialing down the paranoia so that when we leave, something like this isn't likely to repeat. It doesn't take the Force to determine that there's a fair amount of fear here - and fear is driving the paranoia and hostility, so how do we dismantle the fear.

The story also seems important - I'm considering sending some of us into the village to start building relationships, but we need to have reasons for how and why we're here.

That might be beneficial. Been trying to understand their beliefs, see if we can use an argument based on that but their book is a bit to get through.

Not sure what this Force is, is it a mage thing? Other then that, we're in agreement. Might be good to figure out how the fear came about. In my experience there's always something, even if it's small.

Me, Jean and Anders have talked to some people. We've gone to make sure those people in the cells have some comfort so the people know my face, but I haven't given them a reason or a story to why so we can figure that all out.

It sounds like Matt's going to get some of the local stuff, I'm finding out if he needs some help, because having a few people versed might make sense. Margaret had mentioned differences in genders in this time period, so having women work with the accused who are women might be a good idea.

The Force is, well it's complicated to explain, but the basic notion is that it's found in every living thing. I can't tap into it right now, because of the Agency's meddling I'd guess. I've only met one species in my entire life that the Force had nothing to do with.

Maybe make that a priority in our first meeting and we can share that with everyone and maybe assign some tasks.

Right now as I've been keeping track I'm seeing the need for people who can work with the accused, the need for some people who can maybe speak with the accusers, and work on a broader community level to understand and counteract fear in the community... and honestly, these new powers - we may need to deal with those amongst us as well.

Not a bad idea. If he needs more help let me know. Might be good to know a bit of the law as well. Although I'm not sure how they'd feel about a woman knowing stuff like that. Things are different from where I'm from, and ruffling more feathers will probably be bad.

There's knowing in the official context, and there's knowing and being able to quietly guide from the side because of the knowing. If we've got women who understand it, they'll be better able to do the latter - keeping in mind that we're dealing with a society that operates within strict gender binaries.

Needless to say things are a bit different where I'm from as well, but the galaxy's pretty vast and there are different local customs even there.

This sounds good. I'm thinking we could meet over dinner tonight and make some more specific plans perhaps.
