I can see the appeal. Never been crazy about magic myself. It helped sometimes, but there is always a price to pay. And many powerful ones like to pray on the inexperienced.

And that's a new one, my own stepsisters never used any magic. At best they ignored me and at worst they were assholes. We were not a happy family. I take it things were not fun and games on your end either.

... Please tell me you didn't cut part of your own foot or something similar?

	There's always a price. It's a hard lesson to learn. We werent kind to her but when she left mother turned it one. Drizella pandered to her. I fell in love with someone of low birth. A thief. My foot remains mutilation free. Was this about that damned slipper? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

A lesson that not many think about. But sometimes the goal makes it worth it, or at least the goal makes you ignore the price for the time being.

Yes, some stories have the stepsisters resorting to mutilation to make that thing fit. Some stories blind them. Seriously, some writers are just morbid! My own stepsisters simply made respectable marriages on their own, not as fancy as mine of course, but it was something. Not sure what happened to them after the war.

How did that relationship turned out if you don't mind my asking?

	The goal was Will. I failed him so badly. I wanted to break the laws of magic. Go back. Give it all up for him. I put becoming the Red Queen before my true love and I paid dearly for it. Yeah...work in progress I suppose (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

You would think the fact that he had two previous wives would have clued me in, but I was young, willing to get out of my stepmother's house and my fairy godmother said it would be fine. She was wrong.

Sometimes love is enough. Sometimes it isn't. It depends on the parties involved.

I can see why he wouldn't be keen on socializing. People tend to be prickly when betrayed.

If the Charming in your world was anything like the one in mind, she dodged a bullet.

Happily Ever After takes a lot of work and is not for everyone. But you are willing to give it a try. I say go for it.

Admitting past mistakes is a big deal. You have to live with what you did, but you know better now and will do better in the future.That's the best we can all do.

No he was actually fairly interesting, he and Snow White were the great love of our time. Ella married Prince Thomas. He was, just sort of...dull. I'm sure she saw more in him.

That bloody ball was awful though.

Perhaps. I was a terrible Queen, I really was, but I refuse to leave my people at the mercy of Jafar. I won't.

He's truly insane, I didn't see it at the start but...he's insane.
