Scott & Allison; Allison's trying to prove to Scott she's real.
Tuesday afternoon, September 2, 2014; Allison hotel room?
PGish (lots of feels, mentions of death); In progress

Every day is a gift from above//Don't throw it away when it feels like too much...

For the most part, Scott was still in shock over even being in London to begin with. It had been sudden, a shock to the system, and he hadn't exactly had the most welcoming arrival committee. The guns in his face were a little overwhelming, but then explanations had happened and he was given a bit of money, ushered to some hotel, and he found the message board that he was told about to get more answers of the specifics of the place.

It was all very confusing and overwhelming.

But none of it beat Allison showing up on his post. But then, he'd dreamed it a thousand times, in a hundred different ways, and it never panned out. She was so insistent, though. Just meet with me, I'll prove I'm real, she seemed to be begging him. He wasn't sure he could do it. He had actually debated not going at all. Just letting it go, staying in his UNIT-supplied hotel room, ignoring the Allison that he wasn't sure was even real.

But in the end he couldn't.

Because what if.

So, he made his way to the address she had given him. But even there, standing outside the hotel she was staying in, he almost left. Turned around, went back to his room, but what if... it's all he could think, and it was the only thing powering him to actually go through with the meeting, to go inside and to the elevator and to knock on the door.

Allison watched him curiously. He really, sincerely believed that it was all just a dream. She wasn’t sure how that made her feel. Still, it made her wonder just how many dreams she’d been in since she’d died.

“No,” Her voice softened a little. “It’s all real. I’ve been here for a few weeks. It’s nice to finally see your face again.” The faintest of smiles formed on her face. “I missed you, Scott. I’m sorry you were taken from home, though. It gets a little lonely here even when you have someone with you.”

“Are you okay?” Allison leaned a little closer to him, placing her hand on his as a comforting gesture.

His eyes fell to her hand resting on his and after a moment, he moved his fingers to lace between hers, his thumb moving gently across her hand. He looked up at her face once again, and opened his mouth to speak, but no words formed for a moment. "I...I'm sorry," he whispered. "I'm so sorry..."

There was nothing in this moment that was easy for Scott and it showed in every look on his face, every word he spoke, and every move he made. He was just in such shock and disbelief and it was so overwhemling. Here he was, four months of convincing himself she was gone, it was over, and that he would only ever see her again in a dream... and now she was here. Really here. In the flesh. Scott let go of her hand, moving from his seat to sit on her bed next to her. "I miss you," he whispered, afraid to speak any louder because his voice was already shaky enough. "so much. Every day." his hand found hers again, and he squeezed her hand gently.

Her eyebrows wrinkled together for a second. She didn’t understand why he was apologizing at first, but then it hit her. “Scott, it wasn’t your fault. You know that, right?” Allison gave his hand a gentle squeeze. It killed her that he might be feeling any sort of guilt or responsibility for her death. It killed her that he felt grief of any kind. It was the way things had to be, but she didn’t like it.

When he moved to sit next to her she put a hand on his back. “Now you don’t have to miss me.” She smiled just a little bit. “I’m right here. I’m so glad to see you, Scott. I wish we could have been reunited back home, but I’m still so happy to see you.”

He was shaking his head even as she spoke, "No, no, I should have- If I had just..." but none of his fragmented sentences found an end because this, all of this, was just much for a seventeen year old boy to handle. "I was supposed to protect you...and I didn't."

Scott wasn't sure what to say for a long, silent moment, he was just at such a loss of how to wrap his head around it all. So instead, he shifted, moved behind her and pulled her with him as he lay back on the bed. With his forehead pressed to the back of her neck, he muttered quietly, "Do you think your roommate will care if I stay with you guys tonight?"

There was a lump in Allison’s throat suddenly and it caught her by surprise. It was like all of the emotion she felt manifested suddenly and unexpectedly in a knot stuck in her throat. She swallowed it and moved on as best she could, though tears were welling up in her eyes. Blinking them away, she smiled at Scott again.

“There’s nothing you could have done. You were saving Lydia. That’s what I wanted you to do. Sometimes you can do everything in the world to try and stop something and still not be able to stop it. It’s no fault of yours, Scott, and I would never blame you.” She knew that they’d broken up and that there was something developing between Scott and Kira, but for a moment she didn’t care. Allison leaned in and tilted her head to kiss Scott gently on his lips. “It’ll be okay.” She added, in a voice near a whisper.

She smiled when he asked if he could stay. “Well, I know for a fact that you don’t snore at an obnoxiously loud volume. I’ll run it by Elizabeth, okay? I’ll message her right now.”

"I know," he whispered, and for a moment, he was glad that she couldn't see his face, as hot tears rolled out of hiw eyes. He probably would have felt the same way if it were reversed, if Lydia had been hurt or worse--he'd lay the blame on himself. The redhead was like a sister to him, losing her wouldn't have been any easier. Truth was, Scott and everyone else in their mixmashed pack were too young to be dealing with death the way they did. Surrounded by it, by the possibility of it, everywhere they turned. And yet somehow, they managed, as best they could.

Scott returned the kiss, soft and gentle, almost as if he thought she might break. He didn't speak, he just wrapped his arm around her and pulled her closer, if that was even possible.

Scott nodded a little and, hestiantly, released his hold on her so she could message Elizabeth. His eyes stayed trained on her, though, like if he looked away she might disappear.

Allison smiled, enjoying the closeness. She’d meant to ask if it was okay for her to kiss him, but judging from his response she assumed that it was indeed okay. Even as she typed on her tablet, she nuzzled up right next to him. She hadn’t been lying when she’d said that she was glad to see him. To have him right there... She felt like the luckiest girl on the planet.

She finally looked up from the tablet with a smile. “Elizabeth is staying somewhere else for the night. It’s just us right now.” Allison chose not to mention the part where Elizabeth had said her father probably would have thought the scenario was inappropriate. What mattered was that Allison didn’t see anything wrong with it. This reunion was too blissful to spoil by calling it inappropriate.

Scott didn't mind the way she nuzzled up to him, because truth was he needed this, he needed to know she was really there and that she wasn't going anywhere.

"Yeah?" he tilted his head to look up at her, "okay." he smiled a little and wrapped his arm around her. "You're not going anywhere, right?"
