Music: One Night in Bangkok, by Murray Head
When Remus arrived at #12 Grimmauld Place, he was surprised to see how many members of the Order had already arrived, and he was disconcerted when all conversation seemed to stop when he walked into the dining room where they had all convened.
"Has my nose turned orange?" he asked, trying to inject a note of levity into the tense atmosphere as he took a seat at the table. He could sense the unease rolling off the others in waves; it was hanging in the air so thick that he could practically taste it, and he wondered if something had happened, or if the Order had received bad news about Harry, who had disappeared with Ron and Hermione on some quest that he wouldn't discuss. Remus was concerned, and he wished Harry wasn't being so secretive, but Harry was an adult now, and he and his friends were hardly inexperienced in dealing with adversity. Harry had experienced more in the past six years than most wizards and witches did during their entire lives.
"It's your Patronus," Minerva replied in a brisk, no-nonsense tone. She glanced around the rest of the group, peering at them over the top of her glasses, but no one else spoke. She tutted reproachfully and then continued. "It's changed."
"Yes, I know." Remus smiled pleasantly and leaned back in his seat, propping his elbows on the chair arms and stacking his hands on his stomach. Perhaps the more nonchalant about it he seemed, the more that would put them all at ease about the unexpected change. Although he wasn't certain why it was a topic of concern; no one had seemed uneasy when Tonks' Patronus changed. "It's a recent development; I was surprised by it myself."
