Who: Kim and Starbuck
When: Saturday night
Where: Starbuck's place
What: Starbuck just talked to his dead dad..
A week had passed since Starbuck had asked Kim to be his girlfriend and she was still trying to get used to the whole relationship thing again. It wasn’t because she didn’t care about Starbuck, because she really did, but because she had been hurt so badly in her last relationship. It had been a year since she broke up with her ex, but the wounds of that break up were still healing. She didn’t care about him at all anymore, but the thought that someone she had once trusted and cared about could betray her like that.. it really left a deep wound. She was never really one that was quick to trust anyone, but after that, it became tougher. Her hesitations to get into another relationship were natural, but she forced them aside. Starbuck was a really great guy and she didn’t want to pass up the chance to be with him just because she was scared.
And as if it wasn’t already tough enough for her to adjust to a new relationship, her argument with Ed on Monday had made it even more difficult. After things with Starbuck became official, she knew she’d eventually have to tell her brother about it which was something she wasn’t looking forward to at all. But then he found out about it almost all on his own which made it worse. He didn’t hold back at all in voicing how much he disliked Starbuck and that obviously upset Kim. It hurt her that the only person she still considered family couldn’t even support her in this. The argument with Ed had her in a weird mood nearly all week. Kim hated not being able to talk to her brother, but there was just no talking any sense into him right now. Hopefully, he’d come around, but that was left to be seen.
Kim was just lounging around in her room, waiting until after 8pm to go over to Starbuck’s when she received a message from him over the journals. She was worried at first when he said he needed someone to talk to. And then that soon changed into shock when he said that Fisher had channeled his dad. That had no doubt been pretty intense. Stuffing her keys and phone into the front pocket of her hoodie, she set off toward Starbuck’s place. It was only a matter of minutes before she was in front of his door, knocking lightly so as to not disturb Kamea if she was already asleep.
