Saturday: 11/3/07
Who: Frankie and Vinnie
When: Saturday night
Where: Frankie's room
What: she needs someone to talk to about what happened with Nate
At first when Frankie left the roof, she was expressionless. The shock hadn't yet turned into a physical, emotional response. But by the time she reached the bottom of the stairs and texted Vinnie to see if she could come hide in his room, she had turned into a fountain of tears.
Mostly, she was upset that Nathaniel had something so dark in his past. It somehow... tainted.. their relationship. She still hadn't told her parents about him, and now she wasn't sure she ever could. They were going to be upset enough over the fact that he wasn't able to set foot in church, but what if they discovered he was technically a murderer?
Frankie didn't like that word though, at least not to describe what happened. Yes, she was an emotional wreck, but she wasn't so upset that she couldn't see how upset Nathaniel was with himself. He didn't want to kill that child. It was a mistake... a horrible, tragic, criminal mistake. Shit. He was a criminal. She hadn't really thought about that. He was here in school instead of in a prison. That meant he'd never been caught. She knew it was an accident, because she knew he had been a new vampire at the time. A jury wouldn't understand. That poor child's family... their grief continued because justice had not been served.
Frankie sobbed harder, which made it hard for her to see another text from Vinnie saying that they should meet in her room instead. She hoped her roommate wasn't there, because Frankie didn't want to deal with anyone else. She just wanted to crawl into bed and have Vinnie tell her everything was gonna be ok.
Reaching her room, she immediately collapsed on her bed and pulled her pillow to her face, sobbing into it. She was staining it with her eye makeup and lipstick, but who cared? Frankie hadn't even bothered to take off her high heels, which were now digging into her comforter as she curled up into a ball and wept.
