Who: Remington and Charlie E
When: early Wednesday morning
Where: random empty dorm
What: trying to help
After the call from Alex (who Remington had never spoken with before), the elder Quinn brother set off on a determined search. He would not stop until Charlie was found. For her to have lashed out by stabbing someone meant she was in bad shape mentally. He was afraid she'd hurt herself or someone else, and Remington couldn't allow that to happen. She needed help, and whatever Riley was trying didn't appear to be working. It wasn't necessarily his fault, but it was time for a new approach.
Remington thought about where he would have hidden. He had experience with such things. How many times had he crawled under the bed or into a closet/cupboard in a desperate attempt to get away from his dad? Too many to count, at least in the beginning. Then Riley was old enough to take a beating, and Remington had to stop hiding. It was better for him to take the abuse than let his siblings get hurt.
Something about the dorms called to him. She had to be there. It was still dark, and she was probably tired. If he were Charlie, he would have found an empty room to hide and get some sleep at the same time. Sure enough, he found a door that appeared to have been picked. It took a keen eye to notice, and Remington did. Rather than pull out his keys and risk making things worse by coming in unannounced, he knocked lightly and then spoke through the wood. "It's Remington. May I come in?"
