Who: Adam and Ari
What: Fightin'!
Where: First Adam's room, then Ari's
When: Early evening
Rating: F for FIGHTIN!!
It was going to suck, and Ari knew it was going to suck, and he was gonna do it anyway. And he kinda hated himself for it. So much of his self respect was flying out the window right now, but it was probably a necessary evil. Maybe. Standing in front of Adam's door, he was shirtless, barefoot, but at least he'd put on some pants. He raised his hand to knock, thought better of it, then grasped the doorknob and just let himself in.
He didn't go far into the room, not that he thought Adam would let him without tearing him to pieces. Shutting the door, Ari stood a moment, looking strangely awkward. He was never one to look awkward but he sure as hell did now. "I'm sorry," he said simply, looking right at Adam. "If I'd known, I wouldn't have said that shit." There, an apology. Sincere and tasting like acid in his mouth. "That's it." he added, giving a small shrug and turning to go.
Adam had calmed a hell of a lot down since he'd come back from sitting with Mal in the tunnels. The guy was cool in Adam's book. Back in his room, clean after a shower and a day of hiding himself from others, while still emailing his homework in at least. He liked it like that more and more. The quiet. No one bursting in calling him gay or queer or pushing him to talk about something that didn't happen. That is till Ari came in. Turning in his seat when he heard the door open, half expecting it to be his uncle, he found the teen responsible for this mess. At least Adam saw it as his fault.
He listened to his apology and was half surprised he actually said it. Sitting there in silence for a moment, he simply said. "Get the hell out of my room."
---
With a shrug, Ari just said "Fine." Well that had been a waste of time and effort. So much for Adam. It kinda sucked, but... well this was why he'd never bothered getting too attached to people. They didn't stick around.
He left quietly, shutting the door behind him with a soft click. No point in some huge, dramatic scene. Not like he was gonna miss Adam.
Not much.
---
That was it? That was all Ari had to say? 'Fine?' He fucking spread shit about him, when Adam seemed to be his only 'friend' and all he had to say was 'Fine?' That pissed Adam off. Getting up from his chair, he marched over to the door and followed Ari to his room. "You know what? It's not fine!" He yelled. The teen would probably sit there, call him a whiney emo bitch, a queer or some junk like that, he didn't care. "You have no fuckin' idea what you did! You don't even care! It wasn't your shit to talk about and it was it wasn't fuckin' true! So don't sit there like a martyr when you're nothing but a bully that likes to be the outspoken, drug snorten, fucker! All because it's so fuckin' easy! You don't have to work for your shit, it's just handed to you! You're not the cool outsider! You're just some spoiled brat that doesn't know a good thing when he's got it!"
---
Augh, Jesus Christ! So much for no scene, for fuck's sake. Still, he let Adam come into his room, and he sat on the bed and let him scream and bitch and do his thing because clearly he had some things to get off his chest and Ari might as well listen to it now, or listen to it later when Adam was throwing shit around next door.
Finally, when Adam paused in his rant, Ari crossed his arms over his chest. "You done?" he asked, though not impatiently. He just needed to know if more was coming or not. "You wanna... I dunno, hit me or something?"
---
He was just so- Augh! It didn't fuckin' mean shit to Ari about anything. This, plus the day before finally got Adam boiling over. Sure he had a temper when he was near the full and this was kind like that. His uncle was going to kill him. He wanted to take a bat and just beat the hell out of him. He didn't have a bat though, just his fists, so that was what he used. Striding over he drew back his fist and just socked Ari in the nose, hard. He heard something, but he wasn't sure if he broke it or it was just him as he hurled his left fist at the other as well, trying to pin him down and just hit as hard as he could. It probably looked like some weird flailing shit, but Adam didn't care. He was pissed and Ari had pushed him too much.
---
Instead of an answer, Ari got a fist to the face, front and center, right between the eyes. Motherfucker that shit stung. And the other dude just kept coming, pummeling hard and furiously without stopping. Arms raised, Ari tried blocking as many hits as he could, but most of them landed and he kept grunting and shouting in pain and annoyance but Adam was relentless. So Ari did the only thing he could physically move to do- he kneed the kid square in the groin, hard as his bony leg possibly fucking could. Taking the momentary lapse in fists, both the sprite's hands planted themselves on Adam's chest and shoved him hard, hard enough to get him off his body. With Adam no longer pinning him, Ari cradled his face in his hands, blood coming from pretty much everywhere.
---
Holy fuck. Adam was hit in the boys and he was down for the count. Falling back onto the floor, trying to catch his breath as he held himself as he laid there, letting out a low groan. He wasn't getting back up for a bit. At least he got his licks in though. Was he really worried about what trouble he'd be in? No. He'd just had enough of Ari's bullshit. Was he possibly going to get kicked out, probably. Would Uncle Jon be pissed as fucking hell? He could almost count on it. He could already see the look of disappointment on Mal's face as he was escourted off the premesis, but right then he didn't care. He'd given Ari what for. He wasn't a bitch anymore, he was top dog. . . Er lion.
---
Ow, ow ow. It was really, really, really hard not to cry right now, but fuck if that was gonna happen with Adam right there, as out of comission as he was right then. Still... wincing, Ari touched the bridge of his nose, hissing in pain when he did. Shit that was sore. Fuckin' Adam was not worth this bullshit.
The room stayed quiet for a while, both teens trying to respectively catch their breath and compose themselves. Finally, Ari got to his feet, blood dribbling over the hand cupped beneath his nose and leaving splattery droplets on the floor. He felt a bit dizzy, but nothing too bad. Crouching down, he sat down on the floor beside Adam, back leaning against the bed. "Can we be good now?" he asked thickly, still trying to keep himself from crying. His eyes were watering like hell but that was because his nose stung so fucking bad.
---
Ari wanted to be good? He wanted to be fucking good!? Adam didn't really have the strength to get up and punch the older teen in the side of the head. Right then he wanted nothing to do with Ari. Rez had been right. Who needed enemies with friends like Ari? "I'm gonna go to my room," he breathed slowly, getting up. "I don't care if you cry foul, but I want you to leave me the hell alone," he growled softly, still cupping himself as he carefully stood up.
---
Ugh, this kid was so fucking annoying. "I tried to leave you the fuck alone! You followed me here!" Now he was starting to get pissed, which was not a usual state for Ari since he was the one usually pissing people off. "I can't do fuckin shit right with you!" Blood sprayed a bit from his lips as he spoke, stringing over his jeans and the tiled floor. "I leave you alone you get pissed, I chase you down you get pissed, I apologize you get pissed I fuckin' ignore you you get pissed!! Why don't you just tell me you hate me and go away so I can stop giving a damn about you and fuckin' move on with my life!!"
---
"I hate you okay!" Adam yelled back. "You get into my shit and tell the first person you talk to after me about it, you act like I'm a pain in the ass and when you say you're done, you come back because you've got nobody else, then make me the bad guy! You try to make right when you don't really care so long as I come back! Just so you can have that stepping stone to remind yourself you're the badass. You're the one that doesn't care what people think. You like to piss people off because that's the only way they'll give you any attention! You can't fuckin' do shit right with me because I can't do it with you! I'm always going to be a bitch or a gay or a queer or some other stupid name you come up with to make yourself feel witty because I'm the only one that listens to your stupid banter. Sure there's Cassidy, but when she finds someone that'll fall over themselves for her you'll become old news."
"Then you'll really be alone and the only way to keep from feeling that hole suck you up will be to find some poor shmuck that doesn't have any friends and abuse the hell out of him to make him stay and for you to feel better about yourself. I've had enough abuse! I'm done!"
---
What made Ari the maddest, the most seriously pissed off out of anything, was that Adam didn't get it. He didn't get it, and how was he supposed to because Ari had made it so damn impossible to understand. He made things complicated because he didn't want people getting through. And right now, he wanted to kick Adam hard in the nads again, hard enough to make him cough up blood. He wanted to let him walk out the fucking door and not let him matter anymore. He wanted to be spiteful and let Adam be right because he didn't need anybody, especially not someone so goddamn irritating and bitchy.
"Then go already," he said tonelessly, tipping his head back to look up at the ceiling. "If I'm such a waste of space, go. Let me rot."
---
"With pleasure," Adam said as he hobbled to the door, his hand still gripping himself. He didn't care how he looked so long as he didn't have to look at Ari anymore. He couldn't see anything good about the other, just the asshole part of him that he'd always known. The younger teen didn't feel bad or like he was losing someone he cared about. In fact, he felt better. Right or wrong, Adam didn't care. It just meant there was one less person to make Adam feel like shit.
---
Ugh fine, goodbye. Goodbye. Little fucker could just hobble out that door like the little bitch that he was. "I coulda fucked her and I didn't!" he shouted defiantly, in spite of his own self. Adam was kinda right, Ari needed to piss people off to stay in their sights. But he wasn't trying to piss off right now. He needed some shit said. "I coulda messed around with her and I didn't. Cuz I knew you liked her and I didn't fuckin' wanna do that to you." He scoffed, swallowing a mouthful of blood and coughing.
---
"That doesn't make up for shit Ari," Adam said with a soft growl. "That doesn't even make up for anything." Giving the bloodied teen one last glare, he turned and left. He was done and was washing his hands. He wanted out of here, to be away as much as possible. From this school, from these people, especially from Ari.
