Charlie/Ana - 9:30
For a long time, Ana never allowed anyone but Ava inside the walls she had built up for protection. Letting someone in would make her vulnerable and she just couldn't have that. At first, she was angry at Charlie for essentially taking her sister away. She didn't want to be his friend or his sister-in-law. But as time went on, she realized just how good he was for Ava and how much they actually cared about each other. That's why this was so difficult for her as well.
The hug was completely unexpected, but instead of slapping him or pulling away, she allowed it. Her arms remained hugged to her own sides, trying desperately to keep the grief she felt from making itself known. Closing her eyes, she let her head drop to his chest, her heart squeezing at his wish for her. Ana didn't feel like she deserved that kind of happiness. She wanted to respond, wanted to say something in return, but the words were stuck in the lump in her throat. She would not allow herself to break down in front of Charlie.
