Goodbyes were not easy anymore. At one point in his life they had been very easy, because no one truly mattered to him. Students left for the summer, staff members came and went. He did not get attached to any of them. Now, though... now he had friends and lovers and they'd all gotten close to him. And now they seemed to be leaving. He did not know what else to say to Georgie now, how to break the silence sitting now.
Apparently Georgie knew exactly what to do. Godric sat still, stunned, all breath that might have been in him suddenly gone. As she drew away, her hand grazing his cheek, Godric's eyes looked over her face, shock obvious in them. Then he closed the gap between them again, his kiss far less delicate than hers. A hand reached up to caress her face, fingers stroking her hair. It seemed only fair that, since he'd been too stunned to react, he get a chance to reciprocate now.
