Who: Godric and Georgette
What: Last outing before she leaves
Where: Danvers
When: Thursday late evening
Rating: ?
It had not been a particularly thrilling evening. Simply dinner, wine, good conversation, Georgie's usual teasing. It had been awhile since they had gone out together, simply enjoyed one another's company. Godric even did his very best not to worry about Cissy and Grace, or wonder how Wesley and Ipsy were doing, or wory that Blake was feeling left behind again. Tonight he focused on Georgie, because he realized that it was very likely he would not see her again. She might return at the end of summer, but unless she found a reason to come back, and he could not think of one prominent enough, she would simply stay gone. The thought was horribly unsettling.
Walking toward his car across the dark and almost deserted parking lot (they had been the last to leave the restaurant), Godric slipped his hand into Georgie's, holding hers tightly. It felt symbolic, like if he did not let go she couldn't leave and then this heavy ball of leaden guilt and regret wouldn't be sitting in the pit of his stomach. As the Prius drew ever nearer, and then suddenly they were beside it and ready to leave and end the night and possibly their time together for possibly forever, Godric released a breath he was not even away he'd drawn, let alone was holding. Moving in front of her to take her other hand in his, he leaned his back against the car, pulling her close to him. "I would feel like an absolute jerk to ask you not to go," he said softly, looking into her eyes. "But I would also feel like an absolute idiot if I didn't ask you not to go."
