Sunday 2/17/08
Who: Vinnie, Zevira
When: Late Sunday
Where: Vinnie's and Simon's Room
What: REUNITED
Rating: PG-13 just in case?
There were two things Zevira had promised herself upon throwing down her suitcases on the bed earlier that day. The first was that she would unpack everything before going off and seeing her friends. As important as it was to see them, it was a Sunday and they probably already had plans. Not to mention she couldn't stand not unpacking. Living out of a suitcase made her feel like she wasn't really living there at all so all of her clothes had to be put away neatly in their drawers. Her sewing machine was set up on the spare desk of the room. It was meant for two but, fortunately, the school was kind enough to give her the whole place to herself. That also meant an extra bed, extra chair, extra closet. The extras were quite nice. Stacking the beds one over the other to make bunk beds with ease, Zevira put sheets and blankets on both to make the room look more homey and filled. Linus left his stuffed animal on the top bunk before leaving, the little snooker, and Z laughed at it.
When evening set in she was just nearly finished with her things. Her classes were registered for and, between putting things away, she had been talking with Xander over the journaling system. Boy had she missed that. It was so nice to be able to talk with people again. When she had been home for the last three weeks it felt like she was caged in--she had been but there's no need to really get into that--and wanted out. Being here was perfect. Freedom and security all in the same place.
The second thing she had promised herself, other than to finish setting up everything in her room, was to not panic if certain people didn't want to talk with her. So far everyone seemed very welcoming. The girls on the hall were nice and all greeted her whenever she passed, some even helped bring a bag or two in. It was lovely. But the whole of her peers weren't her concern. It was Vinnie. Her mother had withdrawn her without warning and she hadn't even gotten the chance to say "good bye" or "don't worry." Then she had been in the throws of pain for so long she couldn't even manage a text without breaking the little device. Touching a computer had been well beyond the line after the third day home. So Vinnie was her biggest fear. What if he didn't want to speak with her? What if he hated her for just disappearing like that? What if there was someone else? All were perfectly valuable worries for Zevira but she tried not to think about it too much. And, in the least, Sydni had helped abate the worry when she told Zevira that Vinnie missed her. Aw.
Now all her things were away. She was done. Clapping off her hands and then washing them at the small sink she changed into a sky blue camisole, pink button-up, long sleeved shirt, a fresh pair of dark bluejeans, and put on her new Converse sneakers which were blue, purple, and pink plaid. Clumsily she fiddled with her hair as if every ringlet had to be perfect. Ultimately, it probably didn't matter, but she wanted to look her best. Things had changed since the last time she had spent a significant amount of time with Vinnie. She cared a lot more now. So once her hair was just the way she wanted it she wrapped the scarf Vinnie had given her for Christmas around her neck, right over the pendant he had given her. Honestly, Zevira only took the necklace off when she showered. Then, grabbing her keys at the door and putting them in her pocket, she pulled on a pair of white, fingerless gloves. The light in the halls were just too bright for her. As it stood now she had been arranging her room with two desk lamps turned on because the bulbs on the ceiling were too harsh for her new gemstones to handle.
But that didn't matter because she was going to go see the man she had serious feelings for. The door to D2 clicked closed behind her and, without her realizing she had even started, Zevira ran through the halls, passed the common room, and down to Vinnie's room. Her hand slapped on the door loudly before throwing themselves to her side. Calm down! she shouted over and over in her head, waiting nervously to see his face. He wanted to talk to her! That was great! Now all he had to do was get the damn door.
