Who: Arcelia and Damien
When: Evening
Where: In town and back in school
What: Their first date!
OOC note: Part 1 because it is too long. O_O Go us!
Arcelia hadn't expected to talk to someone new and manage to end up with a date, but life worked in mysterious ways. Damien seemed to be a nice guy and they could always be friends if nothing else. It was good she found a way to get out of her room when Jeffrey took care of Caitlin and this was a just a simple fun time. She had agreed to meet the guy at the entrace this evening and that gave her enough time to find the appropriate outfit for a meal and dancing. Finding a man who liked to dance was rare, and a straight man even more difficult - and she was over the top for most men, so an appropriate outfit happened to be relative. Besides, she wanted an excuse to wear a dress like this at least once before it got too cold. A black leather jacket over this with heels and she was all ready to go.
She locked the door behind her after she made sure she had everything and headed in the direction of the entrance. Within too long, she reached the hallway that took her to the front doors and sure enough, saw someone standing there already. Arcelia was a few minutes late so it had to be him. "Hi, Damien?" she asked with a smile. "It's Arcelia." Just so he had no doubts about who she was. He looked so sweet and for a second she felt guilty, as if she was corrupting him... only for a second though. She had to tone it down and then see where to go from there depending on her reaction, because after what had happened in the past, it seemed necessary to be cautious like that.
Damien had prepared himself for the date. His tail and ears were illusioned to not be there. His version of dressing up was wearing a pair of khakis and a turqoise sweater that looked too big on him. There were holes in the sleeves where he stuck his thumbs through. Most of his clothing looked too big for the small framed boy. It was so he could hide his foxy features when he needed to be. He twirled his car keys on his index finger. His car was a run down cavalier which he loved despite it being a piece of crap. His keyes looked like a gob of keyes because of many anime related key chains. His hair, he spiked for the evening, even putting a few clips in it holding back his bangs. Not only could he dance, he actually spent a lot of time on his hair. He paced a little, very light on his feet to the point in which he didn't even make a noise. He could barely sit still for long.
When he heard his name, he looked up to see his date. His cheeks pinked a little, his freckles suddenly very visible. He smiled widely at her, "Hi, Arcelia. You look very pretty." His voice seemed to be slightly laced with an Irish accent. Yes, she was his first date and he would be going through this mostly blindly, going off the advice his father and his niichan gave him. His mother told him to try and keep his hands in his pockets most the time. She worried for him for so many different reasons. Damien continued, "I mean, you look very nice in that dress and the v neck is very flattering. I like the trim too." He sighed and stiffened a bit as he realized that sounded a bit gay. "But you make it look even more pretty." Okay, slightly more redeeming.
Looked like she overdressed for the occasion. This wouldn't be the first time this happened and she cringed internally as she realized she was going over the top once again. Her thoughts broke as she focused on his spiky hair and had to smile. Was he looking rebellious or something for her sake? Potential for this one, definitely. The smile on her face turned into a smirk as she heard the compliment and dipped down for a quick curtsey, just to be silly a little. "Thank you," she said. "I went a little overboard. Should have done smart casual instead but I really like this dress and I haven't worn it before." It was just for him and she hoped he knew that. As for the rest, he seemed to be trying too hard. Sweet.
"I like your hair." Shameless most of the time, she stepped closer to him and reached out a hand to touch a couple of the spikes. "Badass." Arc linked her arm through his and wondered if they should be off now to the restaurant. There was enough money for the meal and the taxi so she was fully prepared. "It's so nice to get out again. Thanks for this." She shone another smile towards him and hoped she made a good first impression on him so far in person. They left through the door and headed to the street, where she added, "I can split for the taxi..." And then she realized he had a car... Oops, spoke too soon. "Sometimes I open my mouth and speak before I think. I hope you don't mind."
"No, I think it looks nice! You don't need a reason to dress up! I just have a couple suits. I can put them on if you want me to..." Damien pointed towards the dorms for emphasis. "I just wore this sweater because it is comfortable..." And he noticed that it was harder for him to steal things with it on. He still acquired things but not as bad as normal. The sleeves got in the way. As she touched his hair, he blushed a little bit more and his ears suddenly popped out of nowhere. He hadn't noticed it just yet but he did swallow deeply. "Thanks! I like my hair!" He beamed although he could feel his heart pounding in his chest.
As they walked outside, he pointed out his blue car and shook his head at Arcelia, "No, don't worry about it. I got this car for my 17th birthday after my dad made sure I didn't cause accidents. I'm a good driver and I don't think we will drink tonight since it is a school night, right?" He offered her a jovial smile as he ran over to the passenger's seat and opened the door for her. That's what you do right? Or was she a feminist and likely to get offended by it?
She tsked. "Don't worry about it! I'll just be your arm candy," Arcelia teased. "You should be comfortable." She just happened to be relaxed in these kind of clothes because she wore party outfits often. Just the way she was. The sudden appearance of his ears startled and fascinated her at the same time, as she wondered what it'd be like for him to hear with those. Did he have good hearing because of them? "Wow," she murmured, her fingers moving to touch one briefly. That was something she had to investigate later if he was willing to let her play a little with them. It was possible touching them was a taboo to kitsune but she hoped not.
Nice. Her dad hadn't bought her a car for any birthday, though she had managed to get one when she started to increase her social life even more than before. No doubt he was a good driver and it seemed she was in safe hands with him. "No drinking. We'll go out of control if we do that," Arc agreed. She blinked as he went over to open the door for her, not that she minded at all. "Thanks." She got in the seat and they started to drive towards the city. The trip wasn't too long and they made idle conversation before they found the restaurant, Damien parking near it. Arcelia hadn't been to a restaurant like this one for ages and it seemed like a good place for relaxing with a nice chat.
Damien gave a wide grin to Arcelia, "I think we contribute to each other's arm candy rather well..." he gave her a small wink. Then his attention was brought to her murmuring wow at something. When she reached out to touch his ears, he flinched for a moment only because he hadn't realized they had made an appearence. He then, lidded his eyes contently and cooed slightly. He really did like when people stroked his ears. It wasn't particularly taboo but more like how someone would scratch behind the ears of a dog or something. It just felt nice. When she stopped, he hid them again.
After Damien opened the door for her, he leaped across the hood of the car and entered through the driver's side. They were soon off. Damien was the sort who liked music while he drove and sang along with whatever song that came on. His music of choice seemed to fall on the Radio Station Magic 106.7. He did contribute to the conversation inbetween lyrics however. Soon, he drove to Uno's and parked and once again opened the door for her, "Ready to go?" He opened the door to the restaurant for her and once there, the waiter said them down. For a drink, Damien ordered a Sprite and looked for what Arcelia planned to order.
"Arcelia... where does that name come from? I don't think I ever heard of it. Sounds like a faerie tale princess from a disney movie," he commented with a glint in his eyes.
She smiled at his comment and continued at his reaction to her touching his ears, figuring they were one of his feel good spots. That was good to keep in mind for later if need be. If he had any problem with it, she figured he would tell her - judging from their short conversation on the journals, he seemed like the type of guy to say directly what was bothering him. The jumping across of the car hood was somewhat impressive, but she said nothing about it at the moment. Instead, she listened to the radio quite happily and leaned her head against her hand. Before she knew it, they were in the restaurant and finding a table. Arcelia ordered a lemonade and had a look at the menu to see what there was for her to eat.
Pizza sounded good, but there was no way she'd be able to eat a whole one by herself. "Are you going to have a pizza? Maybe we can share. I don't eat a lot," she said. She still had to maintain her leanish (not as slim as it was before the baby) figure, so she could fit the majority of her clothes. "I'm like a quarter Spanish," Arcelia said in answer to his question. "On my dad's side. I know Spanish, but that's the extent of my heritage. So I don't know if I'm going to teach my daughter Spanish." Damn, what if he had a problem with her being a single mother? Oh well, she threw caution to the wind. "You can call me Arc, though, since my friends do. I actually prefer it." Full names were no fun in her opinion, only reserved for parents and teachers because it would just be weird to be friends with the latter.
"So you can do illusions. How big can you make them?" she wanted to know, curious about how powerful he could become. "If I practice, I can increase the range of my telepathy by several feet at a time and maybe even the depth of it. I haven't practiced in a while. Too busy with one thing or another and now I'm planning a fashion show sometime next term. You probably don't want to hear about that. We still have theater, though!" She grinned. "Going to win a leading role?" She certainly hoped he was confident.
"Yeah, I was thinking of having pizza!" Damien grinned as he took a sip of his Sprite. "What kind do you like? I'm not too picky of toppings. I like to keep it different and change it ever so often. Variety is the spice of life or so Daddy says!" He sipped at his sprite as he looked up at Arc as she explained her heritage. "Oh yeah? I'm 1/2 Japanese and 1/2 Irish. My middle name is Orinosuke." When he said his middle name, his Japanese accent momentarily supplanted his slight Irish one. "It means helper of the weaver. The kanji for Orinosuke the one that means weave, is very complicated. It took me a long time to master it when I was really small. I don't know why my parents chose Damien. I think they just liked how it sounded." He shrugged a little. "Okay, Arc. You can call me which ever you like. My Japanese relatives call me Dami or Dami-chan. Daigo-nii calls me Dami-tei. My Irish and American friends call me Damien though. There isn't so much you can make into a nickname out of Damien in English I find. I speak Japanese and English fluently and I know a decent amount of Gaelic."
At the mention of the daughter, Damien didn't really pick up on what she meant, "Daughter? What if you have a son? If I have children, I think I will tell them about their kitsune heritage as soon as they can understand. Mommy didn't tell me until my tail appeared. It was a bit of a shock. I'd rather they know what they're heading for. I don't know if I will teach them Japanese. It depends on the girl I guess. It's helpful to know many languages. But Spanish! That is spoken in so many places around the world! Japanese is only spoken in Japan and anime conventions!" He giggled a little. At the mention of his illusions, he shrugged, "I can focus about a few of the senses on my illusions and they're usually about as big as me. A FASHION SHOW! That sounds like FUN!" He beamed. "And I will win the leading role! I got Harold Hill in my schools production of the Music Man over the summer."
Yes, he was very confident.
Good, the food debate was solved with an easy choice... except for the toppings. Arc looked over the menu again, wondering what she felt like eating, and biting her lip for a few moments. Ham and pineapple could be good, but then chicken and mushrooms might be a better combination for her odd cravings. "Are chicken and mushrooms okay? I guess I'm in a weird food mood tonight, you know? But we could always do half and half with the toppings we want," she said. The guy talked as much, if not more, as she did and it was a nice change - she drank up every word he said. At the meaning of his name, she giggled as a thought occured to her. "With a name like that, it's like your destiny to assist a tailor or a charming fashion designer." She was teasing him, though, meaning no disrespect to his name. "Damien is a nice sounding name, definitely." What nickname could she give him? Dami was cute, but did it fit him? "I like Dami," Arc admitted. "It's sweet." He probably preferred something more manly. Japanese and Gaelic... hmm. Very exotic.
Oh dear. "I have a daughter, Caitlin. She's two and a half months old," she added. People often counted in weeks but at the moment the number of weeks escaped her. "Her father is taking care of her tonight. Don't worry, he's not in the picture at all!" If that completely discouraged him, maybe they could still be friends. It made sense that he would tell his children about being kitsunes so having a tail and powers wouldn't completely freak them out and forced them to rediscover themselves. She continued to realize that there were lots of things to do and not to do for children and worried that she screwed up Caitlin already. "I guess it does depend... but since you're part Japanese and have relatives there, it might be handy for them." He still had time to think about that, of course. "Spanish is around several places but not as impressive."
She wondered what it would be like to be under an illusion and made a note to ask him about it later when they were in private and dancing. "I see." Wait, he liked the idea of a fashion show? Who was this guy? Arc laughed. "Why didn't I meet you sooner? So could I persuade you to be a model? I'm only doing casual wear so it's nothing embarrassing. And I definitely hope you get the leading role." Her fashion sense were tingling like Spiderman's spider one. "I sort of have the urge to put you in something punk rockerish because that would be hot."
"Chicken and mushrooms sound like a good choice," Damien agreed and the order was placed in. He made a slight glee sound at Dami sounding sweet. Yes, a lot of people have called him that in the past, usually before he ran into the mischevious side. "If you want to call me that, I won't stop you!" And here he thought that her Spanish side was pretty hot and cool. At the mention of the daughter, he stopped in his tracks and looked up at her. A daughter? Would he be able to handle that? Daigo-nii after all said he was mentally 13! Finally, he smiled, "I like kids. Daigo-nii says I'm mentally like a kid anyway!" He joked as he took another sip of his sprite. "Did the father leave you because you were pregnant?" Yes, he could be entirely too curious for his own good. "Spanish is impressive!"
"I guess fate only introduces us when we're ready. Kaachan tells me that. People walk into your life for a reason and leave your life for a reason and there is a lesson to be learned with each person you meet..." he explained as he wondered what the lesson was here. Being rebellious is good and gets him dates? "Sure! I would love to model for you! Are you a fashionista?" He said the last word with a bit of pizzazz, "I want to be an actor and planned on going to acting school but my parents wanted me to come here and gain control of my abilities. Do you really think I would look hot like a punk rockerish?" He leaned back and raised an eyebrow in a playful come hither expression.
They just had to wait for their pizza and with starters like bread, they could pass the time without being too hungry. Sweet and mischevious, either one of those traits worked for her, as well as a combination of the two. Often her desires conflicted with one another and got her into trouble that way. Good to know he didn't mind her calling him by that nickname... and the conversation turned heavier at the mention of children. Sometimes she really knew how to spoil a good atmosphere. "I'm not sure he meant that as a compliment, but I think it's a good thing," she said. "Makes life a lot more bearable. But she can't play with you or anything yet, so I don't know how much fun she is. At least babies are cute." She gave him a small smile, relieved he didn't seem too bothered by the fact that she had a baby. Maybe it would be problematic later on yet she would handle that when the various problems arose. Right now she'd do with a new person for company and that made her happy. "And no, we weren't together to begin with. So we're still friends."
She had not given much thought to fate and all of that, but that was a good motto to keep in mind. Quite deep. Arc thought to the people she had met over the last few months and what they taught her. "I think that's very true. I think I'm a better person because of the friends I made here," she said. Perhaps her lesson to teach him was still to come because after all, they hadn't known each other for so long. She grinned as he accepted her offer, excitement beginning to grow. "That's great! Yes, an aspiring one." An actor was an impressive goal because not everyone could be a decent one - judging by his charismatic attitude, she had high hopes for him. "I hope you can control your abilities soon so you can continue with your dream of being an actor! And yes. Just got to have a slight scowl on your face and the right clothes and someone would have to plaster posters of you all over." She smirked. "I have a feeling you'd love to have someone lusting over you." It was too much fun to tease.
Damien did admittedly want to turn over the table and run away from it all at the mention of the kid but Daigo's words rang in his head to be polite so that would be rude if he did! He liked her a lot though. "I'm sure she's really cute and looks just like her mommy!" He gave a teasing, winning grin. "That's cool. I'm glad you're still friends. I confessed my feelings for a girl in high school and we couldn't be friends like we were before after that. It was very disheartening." He frowned for a moment but quickly became more cheerful again. "I hope I can too! Unfortunately, there aren't many roles out there in movies and theater for people who look like me. There were times when I auditioned for plays and I couldn't get a big role because I'm not white." He pouted again.
At the mention of him becoming a poster boy, he quickly jumped up to sit on the back of his ankles a look of excitement across his face. "Oh I would love that so much! Can you teach me to look like a great model? I'm so excited!" In fact the excitement got to him too much as his tail sort of lazily appeared just behind his shoulder. "Oh yes, lusting after me. Would you lust after me?" He gave her a coy sideways glance.
His attitude about this won him a lot of points and she reached out to touch the back of his hand, stroking it slightly. "Thanks. I really appreciate it." Touched, her heart went out to him as he mentioned what had happened in high school. "I'm sorry to hear that. She definitely wasn't worth your time if she didn't give you a chance." It might sound to him like she was just saying that, but it was not true. "And yeah, there aren't so many roles out there but that just gives you even more motivation, right? It could be like, your talents catch people's eyes so they make roles for you. It's happened before on tv shows and stuff so it is a possibility. So you'll just barge your way through to the top." A smile shone at him, encouraging, she hoped.
Arc giggled as he wanted to be a great model and was about to agree when his tail appeared suddenly. Her eyes widened and she whispered his name, gesturing behind his shoulder. Maybe that was enough to get his attention. "Quick, your tail!" she added in a frantic whisper. She hoped no one had seen this because she did not want him to get into trouble. Once everything was back to normal, she grinned. "Sure, I will. As photographer of you as a model, I hope I get certain priviledges..." As if she knew what they were, but a smirk still appeared on her face.
Damien gave a sideways smile at the touch and moved to hold her hand. He was always a physical person, even with his family and friends. Of course some of his friends, especially the male ones, were always creeped out by it and Damien couldn't understand why. He liked to cuddle! "I mean, modeling could help me but usually some models can't break into acting as much. They can in Japan! A lot of idols are also actors and models. Do you think I could make a career as a model?" He smiled hopefully. This could be his chance!
When Arc pointed out his tail, he blushed and it quickly disappeared. Offering a sheepish smile, he replied, "Sometimes it appears when I don't think about it. It doesn't creep you out, does it?" That was one thing that always worried him. Would someone other than furries be okay with it? When Arc played with another double entendre, Damien gave her an orly look with a smirk, "Of course you can. After all, you will make me into what you think is sexy, right?"
Touching was always good and the fact that he seemed open to it appealed to her. His hand was warm, soft and comforting. Wasn't this a nice turn of events? She wondered about actors and models, figuring a good model was not often a good actor, yet he was an actor beforehand. He was cute enough to handle the modeling part, at least with a certain kind of clothing. "Yeah! There's lots of models with vacant expressions, so it will be nice to see someone smiling," she said. Besides, he was adorable.
Disaster averted; she hoped no one saw. She wasn't sure if it creeped her out or not, though really, she might meet other people wih greater physical differences. "No. Remember, I'm going to stroke it later." He had no reason to worry when she liked to think she was quite easy going. They happened to get along just fine so far and would continue to do so, she was sure. "Of course I will." It wasn't long before the pizza arrived and she thanked the waiter, picking a piece for herself and taking a bite happily. "So I'm thinking torn acid washed jeans, black leather jacket, some multicolored or logo'd shirt and sneakers would be good on you. I don't know why I have an urge to see that kind of thing. Maybe I need some bad boy exposure..."
"I've seen some models smile but not many!" Damien replied thoughtfully as he tilted his head to the side. He rubbed her hand slightly as he held it. He could feel the warmth spread throughout his body. It was nice on so many levels. She was reciprocating! That was the best part.
He gave her a wide grin when she said she would stroke it later, "My tail is excited for that. Just don't pull too hard, okay?" He blushed again, his freckles really standing out. "I hope so. Don't make me look like a kid!" He was slightly conscious about his boyish face. When the pizza came, he let go of her hand and began to munch at it. When she told him her plan, his face lit up, "Yeah, I would make an outstanding bad boy." He gave her a small wink before he hid behind his slice of pizza.
"I know! It's not as if all of them are stoned. Besides, it's a better image if people are seen happy in clothing... at least in my opinion," she said. "Maybe I'm just not looking at the right magazines or websites." Anything could be the case. Arc was definitely one to reciprocate as long as he was willing to give her something with which she could work. She had to giggle as he said his tail was looking forward to it (guess he had two anthropomorphic apendages that moved on their own). The thought amused her for a good few seconds and she forced herself to calm down otherwise it might seem rude. "I promise I will be gentle with it." Oh, how slightly wrong that sounded.
Arc understood what he meant by that and nodded once, giving him a reassuring smile. "I promise I only put people in the most flattering clothing possible. You won't look like a kid at all." Good, he liked her plan - that was a good start! Not to mention she wanted to know more about his naughty side. "So what kind of things have you done with your illusions and whatever other skills you have? Tell me everything." Now knowing how much he talked, that could be a lot, but all the better. She ate her pizza in the meanwhile, eager to hear everything and anything.
Damien looked momentarily naughty as he realized she actually got what he was aiming at. "Oh yes, please do. It is my first time after all." Okay, that one ay have gone slightly over the top. Oh well, that was the type of person Damien was. He always took it a step too far. He did spend most of his teen years around drama people so he probably knew more than he should.
He grinned brightly at her reassurance, "Do you think you can get me discovered? I think we can help each other. I can wear your fashions!" He spaced off for a moment as he thought of himself as some model traveling the world and girls throwing themselves at him. It was a nice thought. He then turned back to his pizza and munched it happily. "I made a fake id... made myself look like a girl. I created a dog to run through the house. My dad is allergic to dogs but I always wanted one but most dogs stopped liking me when my tail came through or some smell something else and try to chase me down. Um... hmmm. I like doing auditory illusions a lot. It makes people think they're crazy."
She grinned at him, amused at his original comment and then it struck her. Did he really mean that...? There were people around their ages who were inexperienced, so that was not unusual, but she didn't know if she was the right person to enlighten him. Then again... what the hell. He probably knew what he was getting into with her when he talked to her over the journals. "I'll be sure to make it very good for you," she said, taking a forefinger and slipping the tip between her lips to lick off the grease. She wanted to see how much he could handle.
As she was not famous at all yet, she doubted she could get him discovered. Arc hated to discourage him and decided to give a little confidence. "We can try. I'm working on my connections. My friend's mother knows someone, so I hope something will happen there." She wasn't reading his mind although the dream of stardom was apparent in his eyes. The guy had definite potential when it came to doing mischevious thiings - creating a fake id was up there, but the whole looking like a girl was a bit odd. Now the auditory illusions offered a variety of uses. "Interesting. I have to ask you to try some of those auditory illusions later." A tingle shot down her spine as she reached for another slice of pizza. "I bet you haven't used those for naughty purposes." Another teasing remark.
When Arc brought attention to her mouth, he adjusted himself in his seat. All this talk was making him jittery. He wanted to go do something. "Really? I'll try not to be... inexperienced!" Almost like it was symbolic, his tail popped out again but Damien looked sheepish as he quickly had it disappear again. "Sorry, sometimes my tail has a life of its own. There were many accidents in school. I usually tried to shower in the private stall during gym."
"I hope so too! I hope you can become famous so you can make me famous!" He grinned as he raised an eyebrow and then he took a bite out of his pizza. "Auditory is fun. Usually it makes people think they're going crazy! Kaachan used to tell me to stop using it on kids I didn't like at school though. She said that was no way to keep friends and especially since they couldn't know my true nature. They never found out though!" He raised his eyebrows at her suggestion and nodded slowly, "Oh I see how it is. You like the dirty talk."
She tried not to read his mind although it was very tempting and even more so after his comment. There was no sense of adventure or chase if she did so, so she resisted the urge. Smiling with a giggle and biting the corner of her bottom lip for a second, Arc relished in the fact that she caught his attention, so to speak. "Good," she said. "School must have been annoying. When I first learned to control my telepathy, I kept messing up and got the thoughts of the people next to me." She brushed hair off of her shoulder and leaned back on her chair.
More than anything, she hoped they were able to become famous. Arc smiled to portray her hope to him and was lost in her thoughts for a little while. Hearing strange things was a good reason for people to think they were crazy and she wondered if everyone reacted to that the same way. "It might be fun to see their faces when they think they're going crazy one day," she remarked. The dirty talk comment embarrassed her a little more than she thought and she failed to hide the expression that appeared on her face briefly. "To an extent. It depends on the person, I guess." Her eating of the pizza commenced and then in a little while she was finished, hoping he would too because she itched to start dancing and other things...
"I would think telepathy would be a very good ability to have! I mean, you can know exactly what people want or what annoys them and other stuff. I think it would be quite the crowd pleaser!" Damien grinned as he finished his last bit of pizza and sprite and layed out his debt card for the waiter. "In school, I had to make sure my tail or ears weren't showing. I don't think many people would like it very much if they did see it. The few times it did happen... Kaachan erased their memories." He tilted his head to the side as the waiter picked up his card. "Not one for dirty talk? Oh well." He shrugged a little as he played with the ice in his cup.
When the waiter came back with his card, Damien sighed and signed his name and looked at Arc to see if she was ready to go, "Where do you want to dance if anywhere?" and they headed out back to his car.
All things considered, maybe she should use her telepathy. "You're right," she said. "So you wouldn't be bothered if I read your mind?" Right now she was curious and maybe she'd find something especially interesting in his thoughts. People had surprised her in the past and it was possible the same would happen again. "You've really had a tough time at school. How about for every person who disliked your ears and tail, I'll make you feel better." Who could resist an offer like that? Someone erasing another person's memories didn't sit well with her and she decided not to say anything about it. "Oh and don't be too quick to push it out of the way." If by that 'oh well,' he meant he was open to it.
There was only one answer she'd give him. "Let's dance back at the school," she said with a grin. "I know of a room and it's probably better we don't get into trouble for staying out late.. I'm digging myself into a deeper and deeper hole." When they arrived at his car, she got back in and they started to drive.
Damien thought for a moment at the offer. He knew his mother had limited telepathic ability but that was because she was really old. A five tail. But the motto of everything in Damien's life is pretty much, "Sure, why not," which is what he said. Of course, he often thought in English and Japanese and often in pictures. There was only one deep secret he had and that one he kept well hidden. Mostly, he would think of weird What ifs and such like that. Oh, and as usual with most 18 year olds, sex. Yes this was on his mind often.
"No one has seen my tail and ears other than my family and people here," Damien explained as they drove back to the school. "If you read kitsune stories, that is usually how they're found out. They get drunk or excited and then pop out they appear. Sometimes though, when i have accidents, I will give the furry excuse. That earns a laugh and most people say I do remind them of a fox. Of course, it is because I am a fox!"
When they arrived back, he let Arc lead the way to where this place is. As they entered the school, Damien let his ears and tail appear, "You don't mind do you?"
Arc scarcely believed he agreed to it. Sure why not indeed. She admired his adventurous spirit and that made this all the more exciting. Focusing on him would be easier when they were by themselves and so she was able to let herself go, to speak. Weird what ifs and the rest of it, she was looking forward to it all, quite sure she'd handle whatever came her way from him. From what he told her of people's reactions to his other appendages, she was not surprised to here not many people had seen his true form. Not so many, she hoped.
"It's funny how emotions can also screw us over," she remarked. "Especially with something that requires mental discipline." What did he mean by accidents? "I guess there' s nothing bad with being reminded of a fox." They reached the school and walked down the hallways, not long after he revealed his ears and tail. She liked to think that his feeling comfortable in his natural form was a good step for her, and she grinned at him, pulling him along to the empty class room.
It was locked, but she had the key and opened the door, closing it behind her. Arc took her iPod and speakers out of her purse (it had been a fairly big one), setting it on a desk and tossing her jacket onto another. She started it playing one song and walked back to him, reaching her hand out to his tail. "Now, I hope you don't mind." And she stroked his tail with the fur, hoping it was all right. "Is this okay?" She relaxed her mental barrier and gently opened her mind up to his own.
As they walked through the school, he sighed, "It can! But I think emotions are very important. It makes us human and not robots because screw robots! And zombies don't have emotions either so screw them too!" His tail moved idly through the air as he moved lightly on his feet. 'No, foxes are the coolest animals and every culture values them as cunning creatures! So that's cool! I hope people see me as cunning."
He felt very excited as she pulled him into the empty classroom. Dancing! Or making out or SOMETHING! Either way, he was gonna get action! When she started the music, he moved a bit in tune to the music. He moved almost inhumanly graceful. Stopping in his tracks, she reached out to his tail and he relaxed it as she reached over to pet it. It had the same effect on him as did whenever anyone touched his ears. It relaxed him but he liked his ears being stroked a bit better. He nodded to her question as he shut his eyes taking in a sigh.
As for what crossed his mind immediately was calm but under the surface lay many thoughts concerning what would happen next. Dancing, he liked but anything else, what was he supposed to do? There was the fear of rejection and Daigo's comment which was in Japanese so Arc probably didn't know.
She had no idea he was the type of person to have such strong opinions against robots and zombies, and burst into laughter before she could help it. "Robots are so lame! And ew, zombies. I hate the whole flesh dropping off thing. It's so nasty!" Arc exclaimed. Of course he thought foxes were the best animals around and she figured that it was only a matter of time before people assumed he was cunning. "Do enough sneaky things and they will!" Talking to him became more fun by the minute, as she shone him another bright smile.
Wow, only a little into the dancing and she was excited already. So good! Arc reached for his hand after she stroked his tail and tugged to get his attention. Starting to dance herself, she twirled under his arm and then moved in front of him. They were barely half a foot apart and just then Arc turned her back to him, resting against his chest as her arms reached around his neck. She knew how to turn on the heat when necessary and now wanted to tease him a little more.
"Tell me, has any girl danced with you like this?" she asked. "I hope I'm the first with this too..." Arc turned her head slightly with a curious expression on her face.
Damien wrinkled his nose a little at Arc at the suggestion he was cunning, "I will do my best..." He said seriously as he nodded his head and held back a smirk. There were days he wanted to be sneaky, like now, because Arc wanted it. Then there were days he feared this was him taking the dark path to the evil fox side he could have growing inside him. After spacing out from her stroking his tail, he jerked back to the hear and now and grinned as she twirled around while holding onto his hand. He moved to the music as the dancing started off pretty chaste. Then she did that move and he gulped. He could feel his insides grow warm. No, no girl danced this close to him. Daigo-nii's advice came back into his head... don't kiss on the first date, not unless she initiates it.
"You'd be the first," Damien mentioned as he moved along with her body and slowly relaxed and wrapped his hands around her stomach to pull her closer. He just hoped there would be no surprises so to speak. He grinned lopsidedly, "First date, first tail stroke, first close dance... now... all that is left is first kiss, first boob that I can remember, and first time." Okay, so he was going to follow Daigo's advice technically...
While being mischevious was hot, she didn't want him to go evil just because of that. Yes, she had some morals and making someone seriously bad was not on her to do list. Poor guy. Maybe she needed to reassure him somehow when the topic surfaced in the future. Right now, Arc concentrated on dancing and how fun it was, and luckily he was enjoying himself as well. As she still read his mind, it amused her to hear Daigo gave him advice - so he probably wouldn't start anything, no matter how much he wanted it? Did he want something at all?
The position she was in with his arms around her was comfortable and she stayed that way for a good two minutes more. She took several of his firsts and was greedy if she claimed any more without his permission. "Maybe you'll leave the rest of those firsts for someone special," she said. Finally she turned to face him, giving him a small smile. "Someone you want to kiss you, with fewer complications." She just had one or two, right? It was important she had a sign or hint because then she'd give him the time of his life.
