Heather's casual attire and office decor made him feel more relaxed, which helped meeting her for the first time. She was good-looking, if he thought much about that and he managed to get past the slight withdrawing he was tempted to do. He glanced at the piles of books on her desk, impressed, and made a mental note to ask her about it later as well as about baking in the kitchen. "It's good to meet you as well," said Nathaniel, glad he was not interrupting her. When she suggested he sit down, he took a seat on a chair right across from her.
"Nice office." Small talk was not his forte at the moment. "It makes me miss my own." Should he tell her that he was a doctor? It was better that he avoid that topic of conversation. "So, is there anything I should know ? Any additional rules, unwritten or otherwise?" These things were good to know. "I wanted to ask you if it was possible if I could use the kitchen for baking with a friend. If not, we were thinking about an outdoor oven or something like that." The idea intrigued him and he certainly hoped he was allowed to use it.
"I've created a baking club almost inadvertantly." He felt as though he was going on about nothing important and so he was quiet. She'd speak, ask some questions and then they could continue from there. Yes, that sounded like a plan.
