Richard growled low, looking down as he listened to Charles. Perhaps he was stupid enough to think once you got past the formalities you didn't have to keep it up. This meeting was quickly spiraling out of control and Richard was desperate to keep a brave face. He still had the chance to go to Anne's apartment once this was done and that alone would allow him to at least keep his temper.
"I apologize your Majesty, I was caught up in the moment." He attempted a bow as a form of an apology. He wanted to smile, wanted to pretend everything was ok but with the sneer he really felt like a boy who had done wrong. It wasn't a feeling he quite took to.
Richard followed with his head held high, if he was indeed going off to his execution he could at least say he did it with pride. The silence bothered him, and what bothered him even more was just how close the king was to him, "I am all ears, your Majesty."
