Who: Gem Farley and Gage Ollivander
What: What do you do with a drunken werewolf?
Where: Hog's Head
When: Sunday night
Why: Gem cannot deal
Rating: Low-Medium, probably.
Practically, Gem knew that she should be home with her parents. Realistically, however, she couldn't take it anymore. Her parent's grief was so palpable, it was oppressive. She hadn't even really had the chance to process her own feelings, before Imeh started in on her, as if she had done it, as if she had been there, or as if it was her fault, like if she had been there he wouldn't have died. Intelligently, of course, she knew that whether she had gone or not, her brother would still be dead. It's not like he would have sat with her in the stands. He was proud to be the guard for a member of the royal family. He would have been at his post and he would have died there, just like he did.
So, she had fled, when Abbi had gently suggested that she leave and give them some time. Her first instinct was to go back home to the pack, but that role required strength, and she wasn't sure she had it right now. She also didn't know if she wanted Micah's attention and pity right now. She wanted to sort out her own feelings, which were a tangled mess. There was grief, of course, and anger, there was always anger, but there was also loss and fear. What would happen to her now? Would she have to be heir? Would the crown take it from her and her parents would blame her even more for letting the Farley name lose their status?
There were no answers, and so, she found herself at the Hog's Head, at the bottom of a bottle. It wasn't answering any questions, but it wasn't sobbing, wailing, or blaming her either. If her own eyes were red, because of a drunken crying jag, and her face smeared with pub dirt from trying to viciously wipe those tears away, well, she wasn't exactly trying to be a fashion plate at the moment.
