Who: Morrigan and Krishna
What: Catching up and watching the eclipse
Where: The town green
When: Saturday night, Feb 5 (Morrie's 31st Birthday)
It had been a very long week. Morrie felt like she'd had a lot of long weeks lately, between working longer hours than usual to ensure she was exceeding the requirements of her promotion to Head Housekeeper, to Calvin going away and leaving her in charge of the Manor for a week, to the Faidoux making her foggier or more irritated than usual, to this week -- her trip to Castyll to find Lachlan and bring him home. He had agreed, and had come with her, and he was here to work as the gardener at Rosier Manor, and now that he was and she was going to see him all the time, was going to be reminded of their tragic history all the time, Morrie wondered if it had been a bad idea.
It was too late now, of course, but the constant reminder her brother provided of all the things Morrie had lost was harder for her to take than she had expected. She was feeling lonelier and sadder than usual, and though her pain wasn't any more intense than usual, it seemed to weigh on her more heavily.
It had been an expensive week already, considering that she had spent the money to take the train to Castyll, see a healer, stay at an inn for four nights, and eat out while there. Morrie was a frugal person, and by her standards, that had been extravagant, so despite the urge for a distraction, the budget for the rest of that week was tight. Luckily, the moon viewing was a free event, and she hoped it would still be a nice distraction from all of the inner turmoil she was feeling. In fact, it was almost suffocating, knowing her brother was so close to her and yet... she still didn't have a brother, not really.
So, she dressed slightly more casually than she usually did, comfortably but still neatly, her hair in a loose braid instead of a tight updo, and headed into town and wandered through the town green. It was chilly out, but her jacket was fairly warm, and she helped herself to the warm honeyed milk that was on offer.
As she wandered, she saw many familiar faces, but she was lost enough in her own thoughts that she didn't stop to speak to anyone. She only altered her wandering course to approach someone when she saw Krishna. He had a calm demeanor that didn't tend to exacerbate the unwanted drama Morrigan seemed unable to escape in her life, and she made her way towards him.
"Hello, Krishna," she greeted him familiarly, in a soft, tired voice as her fingers curled around her warm cup to soak up its easy heat. "How are you?"
