Calvin was quietly rather impressed that the cat didn't immediately wriggle from her master's arms the way he always seemed to when anyone else was holding her, though he supposed that she had to like someone. At any other point, Calvin might have suggested that Master Rosier take a walk in the garden himself, but he was already turning toward the smoking room, and his smile, faint as it was, spoke for itself.
He nodded to Sylvie, saying softly, "So good to better our acquaintence, Miss Allaire. Do enjoy the rest of your day off." He gave her a flickering smile and then speeded his steps to keep up with the master. "Shall I bring tea to the smoking room, sir?"
