Not feeling so hot
Who: Leland and Sibyla
What: Have another run-in while they're both under the weather
Where: At the King and Queen's inn
When: Early afternoon perhaps?
Rating: G or PG at most, I'd expect. Will update if necessary
Leland did not feel well at all. He was certain that he'd managed to contract the same illness Aoife had, but what was bothersome was his inability to heal it. At first he thought he was merely too tired, or that he wasn't drawing enough from the candles he kept. But when he rested and attempted to draw from the fire in the hearth, there was still no effect. if anything, he actually felt worse after the attempt. Pale and drawn with circles under his eyes, Leland attempted to retire to get more sleep, but he was restless. He wrapped himself in a cloak and headed down into the common room of the inn, keeping away from others lest he accidentally infect someone. It was while he was in the room that he overheard conversations at the next table.
He learned of people suffering from an illness that sapped not only their strength, but also their talents. One man mentioned how his sister could no longer start fires; while she suffered with the disease, she suddenly could only freeze things in sheets of ice. Her physical symptoms improved, but her talents did not. Another man told a similar story - his cousin could no longer read thoughts. Instead he projected his loud and clear to all close by, at least when he attempted to read.
Leland went cold, and he knew that wasn't from the sickness. It was from dread. Was that what he had? Was his power to heal irrevocably altered? How did one heal a disease when the disease itself could change one's power to heal. Leland slumped back against the wall, his mind fighting to race despite its sluggish state. What was he to do now? He sipped from his cup of self-brewed tea, hoping the herbs he'd used would help since his talent seemed to be unable to. If anything they might clear his head enough to think of another solution.
