Steph held a polite grin up until the point that her teacher spoke about being a lawyer in LA. Are you fucking kidding me?. She silently noted where all of her merch was, and contemplated moving some of it so it wouldn't be easily connected to her. Not that Steph had business cards on her stuff, but her homegrown stash was closer to her dorm building, and anyone with half a brain would think to check her dorms first. The real conundrum was why was a lawyer at a dinky private school teaching history? Was she still a lawyer? Did she get fired or disbarred or something? Hmm.... Steph would definitely be asking around about this one. "I wasn't lying, Ms. Doe," Steph lied again. "But I do promise that next time I will obtain a note from Mr. White, or simply meet with the student another time." She really hoped that would be the end of the discussion. Steph may have had a note for 3rd period, but she had no idea where Hadrian was, and if she was seen roaming around after the tardy bell, he'd know she was following him. It had to look at natural as possible, but there was nothing natural about running around, check each class door window for someone.
