To say that Gwyn was excited about going to Koh Kood was the understatement of the century. She was practically bursting with energy at the mere idea of it, and adding the fact that Dale was going to be accompanying her turned the entire thing into the utmost perfection. Leeloo was content with how much time Gwyn was spending with Dale and, in conjunction, Korben. While the rest of the world was confusing and imperfect, Gwyn was providing the woman in her head with her anchor, and getting to visit new places in the process. It was a winning situation for everyone.
Not to mention, of course, that Gwyn quite liked Dale’s company. He was quiet, a great compliment to her chatty ways, but he never seemed to mind that she could never shut the faucet that was her mouth. She couldn’t exactly help it. Gwyn sometimes forgot that some people--most people--weren’t fascinated by everything the way she was. Not everybody cared that her brain was like a random collection of Snapple Facts.
Koh Kood was beautiful. It was the real-life version of what most people imagined their ideal tropical vacation spot to be. The beach was clean and covered in white sand, the ocean was a beautiful turquoise color, and the best part was the cute little hut-like cabins they got to stay in. Gwyn’s imagination allowed her to pretend she was a special scientist staying there for important research of some sort--in between scuba diving and enjoying the beach, of course.
Right then was time, mostly, for relaxation. They had the whole day for exploration, and the beach was tempting even for the most curious at heart. She didn’t need much coaxing to get into her bathing suit, and it was with much enthusiasm that she tugged Dale towards the water, alternating between holding him with one hand and two. “Come on! We’re wasting time!”
