What: Ice skating (the cutest date ever)
When: Tuesday afternoon.
Where: Hyde Park, London
Warnings: Excessive cuteness?
Maribeth didn't think she'd ever been more content. Her business was flourishing, she had a lovely little apartment in an interesting city, and she was more or less caught up on her expenses. The magical land that she was still kind of technically queen of had appeared in a wardrobe, and all of her new friends had turned out to be her siblings, in a weird way. Except Samuel, of course, but he was fantastic in a totally different way. He was carting around Lucy's best friend, which meant that she probably would have liked him regardless, though that wouldn't have been enough to get them to spend as much time together as they currently did. She liked being around him. He made her happy in a whole new way, even when all they were doing was sitting around and chatting.
That day, though, they'd agreed that actually going out was in order. It was cold, but not too cold for Mari to suggest that they spend a few hours doing something that she classified as 'really fun'. Ice skating. She may not have been the most graceful person on land, but she always felt wonderful gliding along on the ice. Right up until she fell, anyway. That always happened. She'd be swishing right along until her feet decided to spaz out and send her sprawling. But that was hardly the important part. The important part was getting to spend time with Samuel doing something that she enjoyed. And hopefully something that he enjoyed, too, since she didn't want to be terribly selfish and make him miserable.
On rented skates, she wobbled out onto the ice. It always took her a few minutes to get her rhythm down. Oh, who she was she kidding. She rarely had rhythm of any sort. As as about to be completely obvious as she tilted alarming to one side before righting herself. The way she laughed at her own lack of grace was almost enough to throw her off balance again, but she managed to stay on her feet. Holding out a hand to Samuel, she grinned. "Come on! You've gotta come keep me from falling."
