Who: Charley and David
Where: Bowling in Seattle
When: This evening
What: Life is boring and disagreeable. The snarkers are dealing with this by smashing things with heavy balls.
Rating: IDK? PG for language?
To say that David disliked Erik at this point would be an understatement. It felt like any moment not spent on his guard was one Erik was fighting for control over. Sure, Erik had wished for more action from the start. Here he was, sharing a body with a man in the prime of his life, with less social issues then him, and was free to travel in public - and with magical means to do so. David could understand and even forgive it to an extent. At least now that demands were more absurd. Since learning about Kate and Christine being the same, Erik had only been more pushy. David was adamant about keeping away from her - he had no desire to end up in jail because of whatever it was Erik wanted. His wailings and protests were impossible to believe.
The reprieve and interruption from his pattern of life - dodging his sister, keeping Erik quiet, and work - by Charley was a freaking godsend. Though their interactions had been few so far, it didn't change the fact that she felt like one of the few people he could get along with comfortably. His sister was always slightly awkward, with sort-of-affection and care before he'd lash out - his cousin, Damon, was merely impossible. There were stray coworkers but generally David had one default mode with dealing with people: anger. His snark with Charley felt more relaxed, understood. It was a comfort from talking to someone outside of his own head.
Despite his choice of venue, David had kept in his traditional suit - tossing his coat over his arm as he and Charley entered the not-quite-filthy bowling alley in Seattle, Washington. He'd been there on a business trip a few years ago and had found the place fairly enjoyable because it had a habit of playing 80's music in the background versus modern crap. Yes. He did rate places based on background music. At the front desk, he asked for a lane and got shoes, waiting for Charley to do the same. Heading back, he asked, "So. How long has it been since you've done this? I'm clocking in at a two and a half years."
