Who: Betty Peabody and Phineas Morland
When: Sunday afternoon, June 6th 2010
Where: Their apartment in Los Angeles
What: Betty comes home after a night at Dallas' and drops a baby-sized bomb on Phin
Rating: Uh. PG-13 if there's language?
Betty had gone to Dallas' the night before, loaded down with a carton of ice cream and a pregnancy test. Every girl's favorite combination? Not really, but thank god for ice cream and thank god for Dallas, because when that stick turned pink she very nearly had a heart attack. She'd been half expecting it, but that still didn't change how freaked out she got all of a sudden. She and Phin were back together, everything should have been perfect. It wasn't. They still had stuff to work on, there were still a lot of things that Betty didn't have answers to, they had just recently gotten reengaged, and now they were pregnant?
She decided to stay the night at Dallas', mostly to avoid having a complete melt down on Phin, at least she had a night to cool off so Phin wouldn't get the full dosage of crazy. Just a little bit of crazy. So after she'd let Phin know where she was, cried a little bit and ate her weight in ice cream, the next day she eventually made her way back to her and Phin's new apartment. Eventually. She pretty much had to talk herself into it for a couple hours because how the hell do you tell someone that you're pregnant? She'd never done it before, and she didn't know if she could just come right out and say it like that. But she had to tell him, somehow.
So that Sunday afternoon she found herself having an internal dialogue about what exactly she was going to say to him as she walked swiftly through the front door, her stomach tied in impossible knots, and she was ready for anything. Sort of. Phin was on the couch in the living room watching something on television and Betty walked right over and sat down next to him, sitting facing him and looking at him expectantly but not saying a word. Crap, she'd already lost it.
