Who: Xander Christopoulos and Star Dinozzo What: Swimming, showing off powers, and a bit of a schoolboy crush. Where: The Avengers Mansion When: Around 4 New Year's Day. Warnings: Nauseating cuteness? Inappropriate crushing on both parts? Probably some minor language.
Xander still couldn't believe he was doing this. When he got Percy, the last thing he expected to come of it was a geeky rendez-vous with a hot older chick who happened to be Iron Man. He couldn't believe that he'd actually had the courage to get on the MTN in the first place, let alone sneak out of his house when he was supposed to be grounded so that he was now standing in front of the goddamn Avengers Mansion. The bag in his hand--which had his bathing suit and a towel--dropped to the concrete in shock. The place was huge. It was depicted that way in everything he'd ever read, but somehow seeing it up close and personal was still a shock. This was still surreal to his geek-wired brain.
Just go up to the door. Pretend it's a quest. Xander couldn't help but smirk. He'd read and heard about reincarnates who argued constantly with their other halves, but Percy was different. Sure, he brought him his own share of trouble--namely in school--but for the most part, Percy had his back and was fiercely loyal. He expected nothing less of the son of Poseidon, especially considering how many times that loyalty was used against the poor guy by Kronos. Times like these he was thankful for Percy, and especially when the guy felt it in him to lend some of that infamous courage over to the ADHD ridden teen.
"I'm going, I'm going," He whispered, shaking his head as he picked the bag up. The trek up the steps was taken slower than was necessary, but he was having a hard time focusing on getting to the door. His eyes were darting around instead, trying to take everything in at once. It was a lot colder there than it was in California, something he wasn't entirely prepared for--evidenced by his ridiculous lack of jacket--which was partially why he took the last few steps considerably faster than the beginning of the trek. "Here goes nothing."
He reached his hand out and rang the doorbell, hoping nothing was about to blow him up.
