When. Friday night, December 31 2010
Where. Briar's flat in London
Warnings. Um. R. Definitely at least R.
While casting that spell to attack Kane in the Homelands had been pretty stupid? This, by far, had been the most stupid thing she'd done in at least a month. Coming out of hiding from the castle, having a party at her own flat? Stupid, stupid, stupid. She couldn't tell if it was her being cocky or just insane. Possibly a mixture of both. She relied too much on her Agelessness, she knew it wouldn't be easy for Kane to kill her. And even if he tried? There were loads of people here who could probably stop him. Or at least slow him down some. Bring it on, she though to herself as she mixed another drink for herself at the bar, a tiny smirk on her lips. She almost hoped he'd try something, for the sheer satisfaction that she really had gotten to him.
Of course, he had already tried something. He'd tried to attack Charlotte in the middle of the night just a few days ago. The very thought made Briar's blood boil over with anger, but she wasn't letting herself get overly worked up about it. Charlotte was still alive, mostly in thanks to her father who had thankfully been there. Briar had seen red when Charlotte had told her what happened, as she did every time after that that she thought about it. It was one thing to attack her, but Charlotte? This was her battle. Attacking Charlotte was ten times worse than attacking her. If she ever saw Kane again, she wouldn't hesitate to take a knife to his throat. A knife that was currently hidden underneath her near skin tight, strapless purple dress in a sheath hugging her right thigh. If he could find Charlotte, after all, he could most certainly find her. She was prepared.
All in all, it was a pretty successful party. Her flat was huge so it was able to accommodate a large number of guests. All the usual Ageless turn outs were there, minus a few including Charlotte. Briar missed her, but she'd rather her sister not be here. Just in case. (It was almost like Briar was daring Kane to come out, though she wouldn't readily admit it. Stupid.) She said a few words to Nick and Miri before flouncing out of the room and down the long hall to her bedroom with the loud, booming music from her stereo following her. She'd forgotten the good bottle of vodka, that was only for her and special guests, but she was impatient. She didn't bother flipping the lights on, as soon as she walked in the door she set her drink on her bedside table and then started rummaging through a drawer when she heard a sound.
