Who: Daniel Morgan and Ava Prince What: Daniel takes Ava to see his Avalon (not Sally's Isle of the Blessed, in case there's confusion.) When: Backdated to Saturday afternoon, October 23 2010 Where: Technically? Glastonbury, England. Warnings: TBD?
Ever since his conversation with Morgaine, things for Daniel had changed almost instantly, regardless of how unnoticed it went by everyone else. That was how he preferred it. There was no shift in his mood or general demeanor, but he was strangely more comfortable in his own head now that Morgaine had become a more active part in it. A huge relief, considering how things had gone the last time he'd allowed her free reign of his head. He was more in tune with the magic of the Goddess. He'd also already had his first vision, and that had been of him and Ava finding their way to Avalon. That more then anything else had been what had sparked his spontaneous invitation to his newly discovered half sister to go on a journey with him. A week ago he might have thought twice about completing a vision, but not now. Now he trusted them. And despite Ava's initial protests against joining the family, they'd been oddly at ease with each other ever since, and she seemed to be that way with the rest of the family as well. Save for Charlotte and Sally, but they rarely got along with anyone. He loved his sisters, but he couldn't help finding himself to be unnecessarily grateful for Alex, who made it a point to get along with practically anyone.
No matter. Ava was warming up to them, and that's all that mattered to him at this point. Which is why he was happy when she'd accepted the invitation for a same day journey and they'd met up only a couple short hours later. At this point Daniel had been following Morgaine's lead now, as he'd never been to Avalon himself and only she knew where it was. So before he knew it, they were at an unfamiliar shore where a boat lay docked and waiting for them, almost as if it'd been designed specifically for their company. He'd helped Ava step in without getting herself wet and followed, murmuring a few choice words under his breath that got the boat moving on its own. Usually the boat would have had people to row it for them, but he suspected any such persons were already at the place which was their destination.
The boat glided smoothly through the water and further into the mist, and though it seemed to be pointing in the direction of Glastonbury only Daniel and Ava knew it's real destination. Avalon was just beyond it, as it always had been. Daniel wasn't sure what Sally's Isle of the Blessed was, if it was really another Avalon as well, but he knew that it wasn't his Avalon. The Avalon he and Morgaine knew from their time had not been touched by anyone foreign, or they would have felt it. No, he and Ava would be the first outsiders to set foot on the mist covered Island since Goddess knows when. He and Arthur. It was only fitting that the reincarnates of Morgaine and Arthur would come here again in their next lives. In some ways this was about Morgaine's continued atonement as much as it was Daniel's own insatiable curiosity. A small part of Daniel wished he could have brought Michael to Avalon, and he would have, if there had been a single piece of Michael left after he'd died. The thought made Daniel swallow thickly and force his mind to focus on other things.
"You alright back there?" He called to Ava, turning his head sideways from the front of the boat to glance behind him. It was freezing, so they'd been smart to bundle up, but even so there was still a cold bite that seemed to seep through every layer he had on. "It shouldn't be too much longer, I think." I hope. Morgaine had promised to give him ample warning before they got close, but so far she'd been silent for most of the trip. She was reflecting as much as he was.
