Who: Tyler Cole, Caitlin Burns When: Saturday, 5/30, around 3 a.m. Where: Austin, Texas. What: After birthday shenanigans and bar closings, Cait and Tyler drag Alex home so that she can pass out in her own apartment. Awkwardness ensues outside. Rating: Gonna go with PG-13? In progress.
Caitlin had been a little unsure about the big two-five, but it had quickly turned out to be one of her best birthdays yet. She'd worn a ridiculous party hat for most of the evening, and in return the bars on Sixth Street had ponied up birthday shots. Sometimes an entire round of shots - not just for the birthday girl, but also for her friends. There'd been drinking. There'd been dancing. There'd been an attempt to climb one of the moonlight towers, but she'd quickly rethought that idea when old Bowtie reminded her that she wouldn't regenerate if she fell.
Alex was the first to doze, which made getting her home priority one. From there, well, Caitlin had no plans. She wasn't ready to go, but she didn't know what else to do. So, she raided Alex's refrigerator for some water and suggested to Tyler that they go sit outside. As she was still pleasantly buzzed from the earlier bar crawl, Caitlin's motor skills were a little shaky. As they exited the apartment, she lost her footing and had to flail for something to grab onto. Smooth. So smooth. "Twenty-five is not a bad age," she declared, raising the plastic cup to toast the number. "To twenty-five! ...hey, I never asked. When's your birthday?"
