Who: Dinah Paulson
What: Finding her way out
When: Saturday night, October 9th 2010 (Sideway's world)
Where: Delirium's realm
Warnings: Crazy?

Dinah Paulson had been lost to the world for months, though she may not have known it. Where Delirium reigns, time is broken. There is none. Tempus Frangit.

She says nothing.

The day they got lost, Dinah had been upset. Though by now she doesn't remember why, only that she had been and when they'd look back, the way out had been shut. Or maybe it had gotten lost too, just like they had.

Somewhere in the back of her head Dinah can hear herself screaming.

She's surrounded by everything. A constantly changing mass of colors, strange objects and shapes. They have no meaning, or they have many, Dinah can't be sure. She only knows she's hurt, and she can't get out.

Something smells like sour wine and aged leather. It's the only thing she can pick out of the chaos inside their realm.

Her tears don't help, they only make the path even harder to follow until they don't even bother trying anymore. Time breaks. She may have been curled up in this spot for hours, weeks, it made no difference to either of them. Though it might to everyone else. Why were there so many people inside with her? Were they here to help or hurt her more?

Dinah and Delirium shrink back further into the abyss, afraid to call out to them. It felt just like the last time, but they were still scared.

"There's a girl in there, she's hurt...

The words echo through the realm making them jump, and Barnabas runs to their side. Dinah clings to him and waits for it all to end. Surely this must be the end. It won't be long now. They know too many things.

"PLEASE DON'T HURT US..."

"It's okay. I hurt too. Take my hand, Dinah. You'll be safe, I promise."

The colors shift and melt away, and for a moment Dinah is completely disoriented. Bright light hits her eyes and blinds her, like how she remembers the sun used to feel when she lived under it. There wasn't any sun where she had just been. She covered her eyes with her hands until it stopped hurting and then she peeked out from between two fingers, afraid to hope. Afraid to speak. Where was she? Even time was in order here, and the fish had gone. Her first words spoken only by her in months came out soft and tentative, as she immediately looked around for any sign of her cousin.

"... Am I here?"

She was coming home.
